Yogurt: a daily serving of unsweetened yogurt contains probiotic cultures that stimulate production of immune system substances that fight illness.

Garlic: garlic has been used for centuries as a culinary and medicinal plant. Garlic helps to boost the immune system. Onions, shallots and leeks provide similar anti-viral properties.

Ginger: Ginger contains compounds that naturally fight viruses. Add ginger to your recipes or drink it as a tea to soothe a sore throat.

Fruits: oranges, grapefruit, lemons and limes are good sources of Vitamin C. Bananas, pineapples and peppers also supply a good amount of this vitamin. As a bonus, fruits are easily digestible when you don’t feel like eating. You can easily make juice with a blender.

Fish, nuts and seeds: they contain omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids that help your immune system build antibodies.
