ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER DURBANVILLE IN SOUTH AFRICA

Our client specialises in providing engineering solutions in the automotive industry. They are seeking to employ an Electrical Design Engineer to be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining the bill of materials of their product in order to meet customer requirements. This includes the design, development, verification, validation, production release and support of all components and subsystems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare Schematic design and Harness drawings Creating all parts, assemblies and assembly instructions Preparing specifications and DFMEA’s for custom – made and specialty controls; e.g. Instrumentation, Lighting, etc. Software compilation to ensure all customer requirements and functions integrate with the completed product Prepare and maintain bills of materials (BOM’s) / engineering part lists (EPL’s) and documentation Provide creative and technically feasible solutions for cost savings, service issues, and product improvements Provide design solutions for customer work orders and change requests. Interface with materials and purchasing on new part design and sourcing Interface with Analysis, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering to determine the most effective and economical use of materials and manufacturing processes Compilation of User and Service manuals Hands-on build of prototype products at Customer facility / venue Education/Qualification and Experience A degree or higher diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology is highly desirable. If not, a combination of courses in electrical design, drafting and related experience is required. Proof of education must be provided At least 1 year experience. Experience in automotive industry adv Experience with a 3D CAD software package to design integrate various components and subsystems in a vehicle layout.
