DESKTOP ENGINEER The desktop engineer, sometimes referred to as Desktop Technician, provides support and maintenance on our clients according to standard policies and procedures. This profile outlines the certification/education requirements, the responsibilities and guidelines on how the job should be executed. The applicant will be required to support clients remotely and onsite, have own reliable transport and have own mobile phone. Overtime will be required from time to time. 1. Certification / Education Requirements Matric with Science and Mathematics and: REQUIRED Microsoft Windows 7 or higher certification A+ CompTIA 3 years Outsource Support Experience ADVANTAGES Office 365 Windows 8 ADSL Apple MAC MCSE Desktop infrastructure N+ CompTIA 2. Desktop Engineer Responsibilities 2.1. Technical responsibilities · All desktop hardware and connected peripherals · All supported operating systems and software on the above · All connectivity and configuration(mail, shares, backups, to servers) on the above · Installation, migration, upgrades, support, troubleshooting and decommissioning of above 2.2. Procedural and Sales Responsibilities · Sales leads and client recommendations · Document client environment · Develop, document and follow processes and procedures · Continuity plans · Research and development · Generate technical sales and growth opportunities, and promote company solutions. · Standardize routine tasks to create efficiency and consistency. · Adhere to company processes and policies. · Account for time by following company policies on workflow management. · Supply managed outsource services within the ITIL framework. 2.3.
