      General Horatio Gates is honoured on the second in the U.S. Mint's ten-piece series of reproductions of America's first Medals, voted by the Continental Congress to commemorate the decisive military action of the Revolutionary War. The medal was awarded to General Horatio Gates for the defeat of British plans to isolate New England by occupying the Hudson Valley. The pewter token is the size of an U.S. Silver Dollar. Comes in the original holder with a brief history of medal and General Horatio Gates. The medal is approximately 38mm in diameter.

The mint of Norway were commissioned in 2008, to mint 900 x 2 ounce and 90 x ½ kilo gold Nelson Mandela 90’th birthday medallions in order to commemorate the 90th birthday of Nelson Mandela. 1800 x 1 ounce, 90th birthday gold medallions were minted of which 900 sets were compiled consisting of the 1 ounce gold 90th birthday gold medallion and a 1 ounce sterling silver 90th birthday medallion, this set is referred to as the 90th birthday silver twin set. 900 sets consisting of the 1 ounce gold Nelson Mandela 90th birthday medallion and a half ounce platinum Nelson Mandela 90th birthday medallion have also been compiled. This is the first time ever that Nelson Mandela's bust has been portrayed in Platinum. 27 x ½ kilogram platinum Nelson Mandela 90th birthday medallions have also been minted. The reason that 27 of these medallions were minted is to signify the 27 years that Nelson Mandela spent incarcerated on Robben Island. LARGE WHITE COPELAND SPODE Toby jug modelled on Winston Churchill, England, MINT CONDITION 22CM.This piece was modelled by Eric Olson and was originally one of a pair. The second jug was modelled as Roosevelt and the pair were made to commemorate the Atlantic Charter. Some were hand painted whilst others were sold in the white. Generally speaking, the coloured examples were made for Newport whilst the white were sold in the UK and became very collectable. This is an interesting collector's item.
