George Washington is honoured on the first in the U.S. Mint's ten-piece series of reproductions of America's first Medals, voted by the Continental Congress to commemorate the decisive military action of the Revolutionary War. The medal was awarded to General George Washington for the Liberation of Boston in 1776. The medal is approximately 38mm in diameter.
