Cabernet sauvignon

Top sales list cabernet sauvignon

South Africa
Ten minutes outside the Western Cape town of Wellington, lies the historic and beautiful Bovlei valley. What was once a semi-derelict fruit farm with huge potential, Val du Charron was bought by the Entwistles, only the 6th family to own the farm since its inception, and brought back to life. On the nose the distinct berry richness (typical of this block) is complemented by cassis, cedar, spicy oak, leather and dark chocolate mint aromas The youthful, earthy flavours are rich, delicious and appealing, with a harmonious balance; fairly soft tannins and long finish Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine is a true labour of love, upheld over generations. Planted in 1979 on a rocky triangle of land previously overlooked, the Methode Ancient Cabernet vineyard is gnarled and wizened and produces but a tiny crop each year. About 18 barrels of premium cabernet sauvignon is made each year, fermented and aged in 100% new French oak for a total of two years and the rest of the time in bottle. It is the finest expression of Cabernet Sauvignon one can find and with its absolute hands off approach. An elegant Cabernet Sauvignon Reveals graphite and savoury flavours Notes of cassis, cherries, pencil shavings and violets Perfect with heavy dishes and red meat

Certainly a favourite among red lovers, this wine gets its name from the process of whole berry fermentation, where the grapes are simply de-stemmed, and then fermented uncrushed and unpressed. The red wine cellar is designed on a gravity flow system, so after fermentation using natural yeast, the wine is racked off without the use of pumps or presses, and aged in barrels for a year. A rich cabernet sauvignon Its full, rich, ripe berry flavours hit your nose instantly and the velvety smooth tannins Perfect with red meat and heavy dishes

Cathedral Cellar wines are named after the Cathedral Cellar, a magnificent cellar featuring a barrel-vaulted roof, stained glass windows, and granite and wood inlaid floors, built in 1930 and restored to splendour in 2005. In this cool, elegant sanctuary, Cathedral Cellar wines slowly mature into full bodied, complex wines that pay tribute to the French influence on these Cape Wineland creations. This Cabernet Sauvignon has been made from grapes picked at optimum ripeness and vinified using a combination of modern and traditional techniques. The wine is full bodied with delicious rich flavours of dark berries and piquant pepper. Supported by tones of spicy oak gained from ageing in new oak barriques. An ideal accompaniment to most meats and a cheese platter of charcuterie and artisanal cheeses. 5 - 6 years of careful cellaring will promote added complexity.

Inspired by the iconic Cape Floral Region, locally known as the Fynbos Kingdom - which includes over 15,000 indigenous flora species - this wine takes its name from Rooibos, an indigenous herb which thrives in the Cape’s mountainous terrain. The natural and healthy brew made from dried leaves is known globally as Rooibos tea. The grapes used to craft this wine are selected from vines which share their natural environment with this magical plant; high in the mountains overlooking the Cape of Good Hope. Elegant style of Cabernet with a fine tannin structure The majority of the vineyards sourced for Rooibos Ridge come from the Cederberg mountains Deep ruby red colour with aromas of blackberry and fynbos The palate is luscious and elegant with surprisingly soft tannins

Warwick Estate is a family-owned and run winery. Managing Director Michael Ratcliffe is the 3rd generation family member to oversee this high quality boutique operation. From 1771 till 1902, Warwick was known as the farm ‘De Goede Sukses’. After the Anglo Boer war ended in 1902, Colonel William Alexander Gordon, Commanding Officer of the Warwickshire regiment bought the historic farm. He renamed it ‘Warwick’ as a tribute to his regiment and the rest, as they say, is history. The wine has a deep and intense ruby red colour The bouquet reveals dark chocolate, bramble berries, star anise, cloves, cracked black pepper and notes of fresh thyme The smooth, ripe, round tannins make this wine easy to drink while still retaining good structure Pairs wells with sticky barbeque ribs or flammed grilled chicken wings
