Finally, there's a simple, affordable "sous vide at home" solution available in South Africa.  Introducing Simple Sous Vide. It's our own brand of precision cookers that will allow you to quickly and easily enter the world of sous vide cooking.  This cooker is a monster! It is rated at 1500 watts and heats your water very quickly. Most versions overseas are only 800W and take far longer to reach the desired temperature. We haven't found any good sous vide-specific bags in South Africa, so we use the double-lined Ziplock freezer bags which have been proven to be safe for sous vide cooking. For your water container, can use it with plastic tubs bought at Wespack/Crazy Plastic-type shops. They are cheap and easy to find. You could also use a very deep pot. There are loads of websites and Youtube videos showing you sous vide recipes.
