TURQUOISE MALA BRACELET IN SOUTH AFRICA
MALA BRACELET The mala, or Japa mala, is a string of beads that is used like a rosary to count the number of times that a mantra is recited. This process is known in Sanskrit as "Japa". The main purpose of the mala is so that the user can focus on the meaning or the sound of the mantra and not the counting of repetitions. The large main bead, called the Guru bead, symbolizes the Guru, from whom one has received the mantra one is reciting. Turquoise is an excellent stone for treating depression due to its vibrant colour which is due to copper and aluminium in the mineral. It is used to calm minds in turmoil following a nervous breakdown and to prevent panic attacks. It can be worn to protect against negative energies and is said to change colour to warn of danger or illness. The bracelet is approximately 20cm and consists of 27 mala beads and garnet. We will gladly alter the size if you so require. All jewellery by Sacred Stones are handmade.
