I devised this course, so as to; provide voice and communication training for male-to-female (MtF) clients and for female-to-male (FtM) clients. In general, men and women communicate differently. For example, most men tend to speak with lower pitched voices, while women use higher pitched voices. Women often use more gestures when they speak. Men may use shorter sentences that get more to the point. Individuals who are transgender/transsexual often elect to have voice and communication therapy to help them use their voice in a safe way and communicate more like the opposite gender of that in which they were born. Benefits: • A chance to practice vocal skills in a conversational context. • Increased confidence and self-advocacy in a safe, inviting environment. • The opportunity to share information about the transgender community. • An occasion to interact with other women around shared experiences. • An important interaction between skill-building and relationship-building in the therapeutic process. • Establishing emotional expression and intensity levels when communicating. What should be the main goal of any pronunciation class or course? What are the kinds of exercises that will help you improve your pronunciation? First, the main goal of any Elocution/pronunciation course should be to focus on accent reduction, not accent elimination, which is technically impossible. Students should work on reducing areas of their pronunciation and enunciation that make it difficult for native speakers to understand them. Second, with this goal in mind, students need to be able to identify which areas of pronunciation and enunciation give them the most inaudibility; such as, vowel and consonant sounds, word and sentence stress, word reductions, linking, and intonation. Finally, you need to practice these structured exercises to extemporaneous speech in different situations, because practice makes perfect. Improving your pronunciation will take a lot of patience and commitment, but the end product - your unique, well developed voice - is worth it! SKYPE LESSONS AVAILABLE

Congressman John Lewis, an American icon and one of the key figures of the civil rights movement, joins co-writer Andrew Aydin and artist Nate Powell to bring the lessons of history to vivid life for a new generation, urgently relevant for today's world. By the fall of 1963, the Civil Rights Movement has penetrated deep into the American consciousness, and as chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, John Lewis is guiding the tip of the spear. Through relentless direct action, SNCC continues to force the nation to confront its own blatant injustice, but for every step forward, the danger grows more intense: Jim Crow strikes back through legal tricks, intimidation, violence, and death. The only hope for lasting change is to give voice to the millions of Americans silenced by voter suppression: "One Man, One Vote." To carry out their nonviolent revolution, Lewis and an army of young activists launch a series of innovative campaigns, including the Freedom Vote, Mississippi Freedom Summer, and an all-out battle for the soul of the Democratic Party waged live on national television. With these new struggles come new allies, new opponents, and an unpredictable new president who might be both at once. But fractures within the movement are deepening...even as 25-year-old John Lewis prepares to risk everything in a historic showdown high above the Alabama river, in a town called Selma. Adults don't always understand you (even though they were once kids), and children today face increasing pressure to be, look, or act a certain way. Written in the voice of a girl on the cusp of becoming a teenager, The Truth provides young girls with an opportunity to see how a girl, who is in many ways like themselves, handles her toughest problems and most personal thoughts. Each new page brings forth a discussion to help girls handle everyday problems: How do you survive a bully? How do you handle a crush on a boy? What can you do about relentless teasing by your peers? What really matters as you grow older? In a positive and supportive diary-entry format, Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein encourages tween girls to carry the most precious parts of themselves into adulthood. A great book for mothers and daughters to read together, The Truth is aimed to improve communication, understanding, and self-esteem for young girls as they enter the rocky road of teenager-dom. Why dont white people understand that Converse tekkies are not just cool but a political statement to people of colour? Why is it that South Africans of colour dont really write what we like? Whats the deal with people pretending to be woke? Is Islam really as anti-feminist as is claimed? What does it feel like to be a brown woman in a white media corporation? And what life lessons can we learn from Bollywood movies?   In Sorry, Not Sorry, Haji Mohamed Dawjee explores the often maddening experience of moving through post-Apartheid South Africa as a woman of colour. In characteristically candid style, Dawjee pulls no punches when examining the social landscape: from arguing why shed rather deal with an open racist than some liberal white people, to drawing on her own experience to convince readers that joining a cult is never a good idea.   In the provocative voice that has made Dawjee one of our countrys most talked-about columnists, she offers observations laced throughout with an acerbic wit. Sorry, Not Sorry  will make readers laugh, wince, nod, introspect and argue. BUY NOW: takealot.com Loot Exclusive Books Reader's Warehouse OTHER TITLES BY THIS AUTHOR ABOUT THE AUTHOR Born to a Muslim family in the apartheid township of Laudium, Pretoria, Haji Mohamed Dawjee came of age just as South Africas democracy was finding its feet. Opting out of the favoured family profession of dentistry, Mohamed Dawjee graduated with a Bachelor in Music from the University of Pretoria before teaching music and English second language at the American International School for several years. Deciding that the world of education was far too sensible for her, she turned to the more chaotic universe of the media. Mohamed Dawjee completed a postgraduate degree in journalism at Stellenbosch University and after graduating rapidly established herself as a digital media specialist. She became Africas first social media editor in a newsroom at the Mail & Guardian, where she went on to work as deputy digital editor and a disruptor of the peace through a weekly column. A stint as the program manager for Impact Africa a grant-disbursing fund for African digital journalists followed. In 2017 Mohamed Dawjee was selected as a fellow for the Deutsche Welle Insitute. Mohamed Dawjee now pursues her own writing full-time. She infuriates readers of EWN,   Women 24   and the Sunday Times   (to the same degree, she hopes) with weekly and bi-monthly columns, and contributes freelance journalism and opinion to a range of other publications.
