Education & Experience: • Degree or Diploma in physical metallurgy, majoring in foundry metallurgy and processes • Minimum of 10 years in an iron foundry, preferably in a high volume, mechanized green sand, production environment • 3 years in the automotive industry • Development of new products (or being part of the development team) • Compiling material specifications • Functioning of a metallurgical laboratory with subordinates • PC Literate: Microsoft Office Job Requirements & Responsibilities: • To manage and oversee all metallurgical processes in accordance with company and customer (internal and external) requirements. This would include metal and sand specification control, metallurgical process controls, evaluating incoming raw materials, compiling material specifications, metallurgical reports, etc. • To ensure continuing compliance with the TS 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, VDA 6.3 and other related and relevant standards and requirements • To be responsible for the efficient operation of the foundry metallurgical laboratory (man, equipment and process) and to ensure that the internal and external customer requirements and specifications are adhered to • To ensure that all Autocast PE work instructions are processed, maintained and actioned in accordance with requirements • To ensure that all audit procedures are conducted efficiently and timeously • To assist and support management and other departments in problem solving so that quality standards meet internal and customer requirements • To provide training for internal customers so that quality standards are effected • To implement and maintain the MDW process in laboratory departments • To provide advice to the company on material specifications, tests, etc. on current and new work. • Generating technical reports (professionally) • Identification of casting defects and root causes • Full management of laboratory personnel Should you meet the above criteria, please kindly forward your CV to shavonne.vanderwalt@autocast.co.za

  Henbane is an annual to biennial with distinguishing hairy, toothed leaves and greenish to yellowish flowers with dark purple veins that almost appear black. Originally from Eurasia, it is now found throughout the world and is most commonly grown as an ornamental or landscaping plant. Henbane, like several other nightshades, has a long history of use as a medicinal and a poison, and it is still grown commercially for medicinal use in some parts of the world. Like its cousins, belladonna and datura, henbane was a common ingredient in witches' brews. Containing the toxic alkaloids hyoscyamine and scopolamine, henbane was used as a poison at least since the Middle Ages. This type of poisoning, which can take place even after ingesting a small amount of plant or seed matter, can have symptoms such as increased salivation, headache, nausea, convulsions, hallucinations, stupor, coma and death. Ironically, henbane was once used as a flavoring in German pilsner beers until the German government stepped in and banned it as an ingredient. Henbane use has also been documented in a variety of other cultures including the Arabs, Ancient Greeks and in Tibetan medicine. It was also used as an admixture to the hallucinogenic brews of certain South American Indians. As a medicinal, it has mild pain relieving abilities, antispasmodic activity and causes pupil dilation. Based on such actions, it has been reportedly used for a list of conditions including toothaches, epilepsy, cough, asthma, and Parkinson's Disease. Duties: Establishing root causes and implement corrective actions for allocated quality problems. Interfacing with various departments. Present findings / reports at various forums and management structures. Liaising with overseas counterparts with regard to build/quality matters. Co-ordinate and be accountable for Body Shop and Paint Shop Quality issues. Lead cross functional teams when required. Monitor and reporting of non-conformances and processes and initiating corrective actions to drive early detection. Requirements: Have a minimum National Diploma in one of the engineering sciences Have 3 -5 years experience within the manufacturing industry
