ELECTRICAL AND REFRIGERATION FOREMAN FMCG WEST COAST IN SOUTH AFRICA

My client, a well-known company based on the West Coast requires a competent and experienced Electrical and Refrigeration Foreman to join their dynamic team. Requirements: At least 15 years’ experience in related fields of which 5 years must be at supervisory level Qualification as electrician or electrical technician in a relevant industry and MV experience.(Transformers and switchgear) Wireman’s license ESSENTIAL Master electrician (advantageous) Industrial refrigeration qualification (advantages) At least 5 years large refrigeration plant experience (ammonia) Knowledge of requirements of Occupational Health and Safety Act is essential Knowledge of HACCP advantageous Knowledge of all engineering service functions Very good knowledge of electrical reticulation systems in an aggressive and wet environment Knowledge of large electrical drive systems in refrigeration plants Knowledge of PLC systems, Soft starters, VSD’s, Working knowledge of marine refrigeration plants Good knowledge of all types of ice and slurry makers and ice distribution systems Must be Criminal Clear Must have a valid Driver’s License and own reliable transport Must reside on the West Coast or be prepared to relocate to Vredenburg/Saldanha/Langebaan Purpose of the position To manage the electrical and refrigeration services department to operate as a cost effective service provider for the shore based electrical and refrigeration equipment/systems as well as vessel refrigeration systems and equipment. To provide guidance and training to staff in the department to increase skill level for further development Ensure that all refrigeration and electrical plant/equipment comply with the relevant regulations Ensure that the 11kV/400V supply system is maintained, checked and serviced as per manufacturer’s specifications and statuary requirements To ensure compliance with the relevant Safety Acts, regulations and standards. Ensure that refrigeration plants are performing at optimal levels of performance Maintenance of equipment is done according to sound maintenance management principles. Manage contractors doing electrical and/or refrigeration plant maintenance and installation. 6 monthly Infrared inspections to eliminate hot connections.
