Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain (PS2) Platform: PlayStation2 Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Information Become a skilled agent in Gabe Logan's reformed Agency Take on terrorists with over 100 deadly weapons and gadgets Explore and battle through 17 massive non-linear worlds Multiple ways to complete each mission Sophisticated enemy AI Optional 4-player co-operative online play for all 17 missions USB headset compatible--verbally strategize with fellow agents online Offline: 1 player Online: 1-4 players (requires broadband connection and Network Adapter) Product Description Review Syphon Filter is a peculiar franchise. The first game was a very decent pastiche of Metal Gear Solid, but subsequent sequels seemed to become increasingly less so, to the point where this fourth title is really make or break for the series. The Omega Strain 's big new feature, as with many sequels nowadays, is that the game is now playable online, and rather than being an afterthought or grossly simplified version of the single player mode there's actually an impressive attempt to put the whole game online, where it's playable by up to four people at a time. The only problem is that because the online and offline modes are so similar this actually means that if you know what you're doing, and particularly if you've got microphone headsets to co-ordinate yourselves with, it all becomes rather easy--a fact that a rather intrusive time limit cannot really balance out. But the problem with the online mode isn't really that it's too easy but that the basic gameplay of the single player mode just doesn't cut the mustard anymore. Considering the advances made in Metal Gear Solid 3, the Syphon Filter franchise just seems to be treading water and the rather weak graphics, stodgy controls and generally uninspired level design are rather more typical of Syphon Filter 2 and 3 than the original. The Omega Strain is not a bad game by any means, but apart from the novelty of playing it online it really is difficult to describe it as anything other than average. -- David Jenkins Manufacturer's Description Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain explodes onto the PS2 with edge-of-your-seat offline and online action. The newest instalment in the multi-million-selling series offers sophisticated and highly intelligent AI, richly detailed worlds, an enhanced character customisation system and groundbreaking co-operative, peer-to-peer online gameplay. Selected as one of the chosen few to be a trained operative within Gabe Logan's new Agency, gamers will enter a world of intrigue and global espionage, battling lethal enemies through 17 thrilling missions that span the globe from Yemen to Toronto. With a deadly arsenal of all-new high tech weaponry and gadgets, players can take on commandos solo-style or go online and join up with three other agents for action-packed, strategic, team-based gameplay. While all 17 missions are available in single-player and online, online gameplay offers players the opportunity to access more of the worlds through working hand-in-hand with other skilled operatives. Gamers will need all the help they can get as the future of the world's population once again hangs in the balance.

U2 Vertigo Whitney Houston The Greatest Love Of All   Review In a nutshell: The SingStar karaoke juggernaut rumbles on with a particularly generous selection of 30 new songs featuring music legends from Elton John to Nirvana and Tina Turner to Johnny Cash. The lowdown: After the rather niche Singstar Rocks and SingStar Anthems this latest expansion has a much broader song selection. The rather loose theme is that all the songs are by music legends, rather than one hit wonders, and youve got the likes of Paranoid by Black Sabbath, Life on Mars by David Bowie and Ring of Fire by Jonny Cash. As usual all the songs include the original music video (if they had one), giving visual accompaniment to classics such as The Greatest Love of All by Whitney Houston, Roxanne by The Police and Rocket Man by Elton John. Of course whether youll still love all these golden oldies after theyve been desecrated by a drunken SingStar session is another thing. Most exciting moment: The eight player, pass the microphone mode is still the best way to play SingStar and there arent really any new game modes here to beat it. There is a new feature that lets you compare your crooning with that of the real artist though, even if the game does seem to be rather kind in most of its comparisons. Since you ask: SingStar has already been confirmed as appearing on the PlayStation 3, in fact its was one of the first games to be demoed using the online shop, where you can download individual songs you want instead of having to buy whole expansions like this. The bottom line: One of the best SingStar expansions, with at least a few songs for everyone.- HARRISON DENT

Meet the Robinsons (Wii) Brand New In Box (Sealed but sometimes supplied without film wrapping) THIS PRODUCT IS IMPORTED ON ORDER - PLEASE SEE "SHIPPING & PAYMENT" FOR DELIVERY TIMES Game Information Platform:   Nintendo Wii PEGI Rating: Ages 7 and Over Media: Video Game Item Quantity: 1 Product details Release Date: 30 Mar Features: Experience large-scale and stunning environments that expand the movie universe -- fully explore the Robinson's House, Lewis's science fair, Lizzie's Ant Underworld and much more Travel through time to alter the past and affect the future, interacting with the funny and distinct cast of characters from the movie Utilize and upgrade the game's myriad cool gadgets in funny and clever ways, including the: Chargeball Glove, Disassembler, Scanner, Family Album, Havoc Gloves and Levitation Ray Solve puzzles and complete missions, discovering hidden upgrades, new items, and adventure areas in an interactive environment Play various Charge Ball mini-games and collect Virtual Reality discs to unlock new courts Product Description ReviewThere¿¿¿s a CGI Disney movie in town and that can mean only one thing: the imminent arrival of an official video game tie-in. The movie is based on the book A Day with Wilbur Robinson by William Joyce, which involves young orphan Lewis being whisked into the future to meet a rather odd family called¿¿¿ well you can probably guess. Unlike many other movie licenses both film and game have been worked on simultaneously, with the game expanding on the movie¿¿¿s story rather than just retelling it. The game is being developed by Avalanche Softwre, who did the Tak series and Disney¿¿¿s own Chicken Little, which was one of the better (or least worst) tie-ins of recent years. Since the movie is filled with time travel paradoxes the game aims to fill in the untold stories and shockingly isn¿¿¿t a platform game ¿¿¿ at least not primarily anyway. There is plenty of action though as you fight robots and use gadgets like the disassembler, the chargeball glove, scanner, havoc gloves and levitator. Wilbur can upgrade both his gadgets and himself as he makes progress in the game, allowing you to choose whether you rely more on straight action or your wits. Further variety is added by some Super Monkey Ball style levels where you have to roll Wilbur around in a giant force field ball and some retro looking side-scrolling levels. It¿¿¿s not a game likely to appeal to anyone that hasn¿¿¿t seen the movie but with a bit of luck it won¿¿¿t be a complete rip-off for those that have and just want relive the experience at home. HARRISON DENT Product Description What if you could change the past? What if you could control the future? What if time was on your side? Play as Wilbur Robinson and experience the thrills of time travel in all new adventures beyond the movie! With a ton of crazy gadgets at your disposal, battle enemies and solve puzzles while in pursuit of the dastardly Bowler Hat Guy and his diabolical robotic hat, Doris. It`s up to you to thwart their evil plans and save the future! Operation Winback (PS2) Platform: PlayStation2 Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Description Review If you can play Operation Winback for more than five minutes without thinking of Metal Gear Solid then you're either suffering from amnesia or probably refer to all video games as "Space Invaders" and have only turned the PS2 on by accident thinking it was the VCR. It's kind of a cross between the stealthy shoot-'em-up bits in Metal Gear Solid and a more arcade style game like Time Crisis. Unfortunately this means it's Time Crisis without the non-stop action and Metal Gear Solid without the variety and complex storyline. Oh, and the main bad guy is called Kenneth and the elite commando team to which you belong is known as SCAT. Although Operation Winback is less than the sum of its parts it's still fun. Hiding behind crates and jumping out to shoot unsuspecting bad guys is undoubtedly entertaining, even if the slightly fiddly controls sometimes get in the way. Unfortunately there's not much more to the game than that so it does get rather repetitive--although the various multiplayer modes do make up for this to some degree. If you can't wait for Metal Gear Solid 2 then this is a reasonable but not outstanding stopgap. -- David Jenkins Manufacturer's Description You are dropped by a careering helicopter gunship directly into the terrorist base. The original mission must still be accomplished; the world's safety depends on it. You don't know where your comrades are or whether they are alive at all. It will take all your cunning, stealth and ingenuity to survive; your skill as a commando will determine the fate of the world. As Jean Luc Cougar - member of the elite S.C.A.T commando force. Your mission is to regain control of the GULF Strategic Weapons System, Mission Winback. This satellite is capable of destroying several square miles at a time and it's in dangerous hands! The satellite's destructive capabilities have earned it the nickname "Sword of Angels". The terrorists make no demands. They plan to attack the European country of Argent indiscriminately. One of the development team's goals was to provide a new playing experience for shooting game fans. The decision was made to go with an over-the-shoulder view because it gives players more control over character movements than the traditional first person shooter. Only a 3rd person view could accurately represent all of the motions, including the thrilling "swing-out" feature, which allows players to use walls and objects for cover; pop out to squeeze off a few rounds and then drop back under cover as the enemy retaliates. The sighting mechanism also benefits from this third person point of view. WinBack uses a laser sighting technique rather than the traditional crosshairs method. Once mastered, this allows for precise control over where you aim and therefore fire. This perspective also allows for other cool effects, such as flashlights attached to your weapons to light up dark areas. Another feature, which sets this title apart from previous Covert Operations games, is the freedom to approach each mission in different ways. There may be times when it is more prudent to use stealth and take out enemies quickly and quietly, but there may also be times when players feel that blasting their way through enemy lines with sheer force is the most expedient course. This freedom provides a high level of player interaction for a more thrilling, more player-orientated gaming experience.

Star Wars: Rogue Leader - Rogue Squadron II (GameCube) Platform: GameCube Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Information Based on the original 1977 movie Stunning recreation of the climactic scene Detailed background graphics Play as Luke, with R2D2 riding shotgun 11 missions over ice planet Hoth, the Death Star, and more Product Description Rogue Leader has some of the best graphics ever seen on a home console and its proper, old-fashioned, Star Wars--if that doesnt raise at least an eyebrow of your interest then theres probably not much in the world of video games that will. Thankfully, the jaw-dropping graphics are matched up to a very playable shoot em-up that works as a slightly more in-depth version of the PS2s Starfighter, except without any of that Episode I nonsense; instead it recreates everything from the Death Star trench run to the Battle of Hoth. The game is actually a sequel to Rogue Squadron on the N64--an excellent game that many only remember from the rather lacklustre PC version. Its structurally very similar to the original, with a dozen or so levels and a Star Destroyer full of secret levels and ships. There are a few new ideas, such as controllable wingman and ground troops, and some of the levels are set in deep space instead of just planetside, but at its heart this is still Rogue Squadron Deluxe. What elevates the game to an object of worship is the graphics--they really do look almost identical to the movies, with several scenes being copied exactly, and move with a fluidity and grace you wouldnt have thought possible from a ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿150 console. The only flaw is that the missions are needlessly short, but theres plenty of replayability, and by gosh theres those graphics...--David Jenkins Review Rogue Leader has some of the best graphics ever seen on a home console and it's proper, old-fashioned, Star Wars --if that doesn't raise at least an eyebrow of your interest then there's probably not much in the world of video games that will. Disney/Pixar's Monsters, Inc.: Scare Island (PSone) Platform: PlayStation Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Information Train to be a Top Kid Scarer at the Monster Academy and join the scream team! Players can choose to play as Mike or Sulley; each monster has his own special moves Lots of special items to collect, including trampolines and flingshots A host of unique scare tactics to discover and over fifteen huge zones to explore Product Description An all-action adventure featuring the stars of Disney/Pixar's latest blockbuster, Monsters, Inc. Since the very first bedtime, children all over the world have known that once their parents tuck them into bed and turn off the light, there are MONSTERS hiding in their wardrobes, waiting to emerge. But what they don't know is that these monsters scare children because they have to. It's nothing personal. It's just their job. And now monster mania is on its way to you! The mix of heart-warming storyline, endearing characters and frightening, funny humour combine to give the ultimate animated movie experience. Review If you're into Monsters, Inc. you'll love this game, a colourful and child-friendly offering that brings the characters from the Pixar/Disney blockbuster to a PlayStation near you. The aim of the game is simple enough: progress through the levels by scaring a set number of robotic children ("nerves") and collecting your standard platform currency--coins. The game itself is a movie tie-in, but not a game of the movie; the plot doesn't follow the film's at all, instead pursuing Mike and Sulley's training at the Monsters, Inc. Scare Academy. Each level is presented more as a puzzle rather than a story progression; clips from the movie are included in between levels, but they don't really bear any relevance to the action at your fingertips. The gameplay uses elements from Crash Bandicoot, Banjo Kazooie and Spyro the Dragon: jump, spin, bounce--all your standard platform moves are here. However, this isn't a bad thing, as kids will love it. It's a fun, not overly complicated platformer, which does its job; if however you want an original gaming experience then maybe this isn't for you.-- Laurent S Hall

As you'd expect from an official FIAA licence, all of the teams and drivers are represented, as are the 16 circuits which make up the World Championship circus--and they look fabulous. Presentation is king here and graphically there's plenty of eye candy to keep everyone entertained. Lush pre-rendered intro sequences rub shoulders with pre-race presentations complemented by introductory commentary that manages to be informative without being over the top. Formula One 2002 contains two race modes, Arcade and Simulation. The Arcade mode is more a game of bumper cars than a serious racing game, though you do get full in-race commentary from the king o' the track Murray Walker; while he does lighten the mood on occasion--"He's off the track and into the kitty litter!"--his repetitive comments will soon have you reaching for the "commentator off" button. In Simulation mode things get more realistic, but it has to be said that the experience still has an arcade-y feel to it. Even on a semi-pro setting it's not difficult to keep up with the pack down the back straights of Monza and the steering is viciously sharp at times, giving a rather detached feeling rather than an immersive one. That said, Formula One 2002 is more instantly playable than EA's F1 2002 (don't get confused by the titles, now) even though it lacks the fanatical level of tweaking EA include in their title. -- Chris Russell

Prince Naseem Boxing (U) Platform: PlayStation Condition: Pre-Owned/Used in Very Good Condition This Title Also Available As: New: Brand New and Sealed games available Please get in touch for information on these options. Pre-owned games supplied with applicable serial keys. However - please note: Any single use keys or activation codes may have already been used/redeemed. Product Information 16 international boxers 16 global locations Winner stays on feature up to 8 players Train and manage one of 90 boxers Train in Naz's Gym Product Description Offering a balance between a realistic boxing simulation and an action game Prince Naseem Boxing (U) offers three distinct boxing games: world championship showcase boxing, arcade boxing or even a management-style career game. Rather than players simply button pummelling to land hopeful punches, players must learn strategies and tactics that are true to boxing-ring craft as they control the 16 individual international boxers, including Naz. In the Showcase game, the player faces each of the boxers in a world tournament league and winning a match against one, "unlocks" another opponent to face. The action of the Showcase game takes players around the world to 16 international locations ranging from small-town boxing halls, to arenas to full-on massive stadiums in Japan, LA, Las Vegas, France, Germany, Russia and the UK. Versus offers gameplay modes especially suited to party play option for up to eight players with winner stays on. For a change of pace, Prince Naseem Boxing (U)'s World Game features 90 boxers and offers a strategic approach to boxing management. The World Game is wholly career-based, the long-term objective being to manage a chosen boxer through a successful career. The separate Practice game is set in Naz's personal training gym and is a game in itself; the gym sessions deliver specialised training where players are taught boxing skills, including defence, movement, punches and dodging and blocking, practising with trainers of different skills and abilities. Review Get ready... It's time for you to enter the ring as the one and only Prince Naseem or one of the 16 creatively named boxers in this the first boxing sim from Codemasters. Yes, this is the same Codemasters that brought us Colin McRae, but you would be wrong in thinking it's of the same standard, far from it unfortunately. This is a game that owes more to the old-style arcade fist fights than the more sophisticated likes of Knockout Kings, as is only too apparent when the fighting starts, with the punches being basic and the movements jerky, with camera angles adding extra confusion. The game has various modes to choose from, including a World mode. Here its up to you to train your fighter, work your way through the ranks with the aim of unifying the belts and enter the gym where you need to develop a strict training regime. One of the nicer elements is the haymaker punch, which is obtained by producing a sting of scoring punches. If your training pays off, you have 10 seconds to unleash a punch, or your moment of glory is lost, which is rather similar to this game. If you can put up with the slow jerky movement and the dull gameplay you might find a redeeming feature in the Showcase option where up to eight of you can fight in a knockout tournament. A good idea, and ideal for the simple boxing fan, but with the Knockout Kings series going from strength to strength, you can help thinking that this is one Naz can't walk away with. -- Robert Holliday

Silent Hill 3 (PS2) Platform: PlayStation2 Condition: New This Title Also Available As: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition games available Please get in touch for information on these options. Product Information PEGI Rating Ages 18 and over. Product Description Silent Hill 3 continues the series' trademark brand of psychological horror and terrifying gameplay. As a teenage girl named Heather, players must explore and unravel the mysterious connection between the god-forsaken town and her inner fears. The game features enhanced graphical detail, a more complex storyline and even more grotesque monsters than the previous games. Review Play Silent Hill 3 and you'll never scoff at anyone that admits they got scared by a video game again: this isn't survival horror, it's full on survival terror. Away from the shlock B-movie stylings of the Resident Evil series, the Silent Hill games have carved, with a particularly rusty machete, a rather different niche for themselves with a line in taut psychological horror that really gets under your skin rather than just providing a few cheap shocks. The games' primary means of achieving this is via their superb graphics and sound which immediately create an oppressive atmosphere where you're constantly in fear of exactly what manner of evil will happen next. Unfortunately veterans of the series will know that more often than not; nothing much ever does happen next, except maybe the appearance of one of the small number of stock enemies. They'll also be perturbed by the constant recycling of backdrops in this third edition--particularly in yet another visit to the Silent Hill hospital. The game does stop pulling its punches for the especially disturbing last third of the adventure though, and anyone new to Silent Hill is likely to be scared silly for its entire duration. The game's other faults, such as a clunky control system and storyline are (for no apparent reason) stocks of the survival horror trade so it would take a particularly surly gamer to deny the game's obvious quality. It'll also take someone with concrete underpants to remain unfazed by the whole thing, particularly the church with the bleeding walls... -- David Jenkins

Monster's Inc. Scare Island PS1 Very Good Condition, Front Insert Missing   If you're into Monsters, Inc. you'll love this game, a colourful and child-friendly offering that brings the characters from the Pixar/Disney blockbuster to a PlayStation near you.

Blair Witch Volume 1: Rustin Parr (PC) Platform: Windows 98, Windows 95 Condition: New This Title Also Available As: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition games available Please get in touch for information on these options. Product Information 1 of 3 games expanding on the story of The Blair Witch Project Supernatural action/adventure game Play as Doc Holliday, lead investigator Collect evidence, investigate local legend, and analyze crime scene Use a host of weapons to defend yourself from mortal and spectral enemies Product Description Review Some enjoyed making up their own monster in the original film that spawned this game The Blair Witch Project Vol 1: Rustin Parr, others felt cheated. Just in time for the first sequel this Halloween, the game is intended to be part of a trilogy. The loading screen starts to set up the atmosphere with weird random freakish noises like children crying, but since the game requires 850Mb HDD space and isn't the fastest loader around, this soon becomes irritating. You control Doc Holiday--a female doctor rather than the male gunslinger--in her quest to unravel the mystery of the Blair Witch. The story setup and the training mission are combined into one. It is certainly the best time to get accustomed to the extreme third-person angles of the game, though Resident Evil fans won't have much trouble adjusting. You still have to readjust your control method because different camera angles cause different character directions onscreen although the controls remain the same, which is no real problem for Tomb Raider fans, but it's the second time one of the features of Blair Witch Vol.1 has been better executed elsewhere and your technique needs to be totally relearned. One nice feature however, is the first-person night vision, which is deliberately blurred to recreate the film's night video view feel. Since at least two more episodes are due for release by Gathering of Developers, don't kid yourself that it's all over when you get to the end. The game is average and open-minded gamers will give it a try, and persevere if they are fans of the other action/adventure series mentioned. If not, this game is a like-or-hate affair, just like the film, and shouldn't be bought without trying a demo first. -- Kenneth Henry Manufacturer's Description Set in 1941, the first adventure pits Government special investigator Doc Holliday against the ancient evil that drove hermit Rustin Parr to abduct and slay seven children in Burkittsville, Maryland. Along the way, she has to interact with stricken townspeople, investigate hidden legends and arcane rituals, and seek to unravel a twisted mystery that still haunts the town. Rustin Parr combines traditional adventure elements, research, exploration and puzzle solving plus a healthy dose of heart-pounding action to create a terrifying gaming experience.

Final Fantasy X: Platinum Edition (PS2) Platform: PlayStation2 Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Information Milestone role-playing game High polygon, motion-captured characters Camera automatically adjusts to character movement Voiceovers for the first time in the series Rotate characters in and out at any time Product Description Final Fantasy X is the first title in this landmark RPG series to be released for the PlayStation 2. The main characters are Tidus, a star of blitzball (a hugely popular sport in the Final Fantasy universe) and Yuna, who has learned the art of summoning and controlling aeons, powerful spirits of yore. These two people of different backgrounds must work together as they journey through the world of Spira. This instalment of Final Fantasy has a distinctly Asian influence, bringing a fresh feel to the characters, music, settings, and story. Features include voice-overs for the first time in the series (utilising the "Facial Motion System"), high polygon, motion-captured player characters designed by Tetusya Nomura, and a camera that automatically adjusts its perspective to correspond with the movements of the characters, a feature now possible due to the title now being largely polygonal. Review Each instalment of the Final Fantasy series has featured strong storytelling, characterisation, strategic combat, fun mini-games and hours upon hours of captivating gameplay, and the 10th title in the series is no exception. This is the first time Final Fantasy has appeared on the PlayStation 2, and it takes full advantage of the console's increased technical capabilities. The story this time concerns Tidus, a blond-haired star of a sport called Blitzball. While he is playing in a match, Tidus' city is attacked by an evil force called Sin, and everything is destroyed save Tidus and his guardian Auran. The adventure begins as they are somehow transported to another world. From here on, it's standard Final Fantasy gameplay: fight battles, manage experience points, learn new powers and recruit a motley crew of non-playing characters to join your quest. The graphics, however, take things to a new level. They are amazing not only for their realism, but also for their imaginative art and design. The world these heroes inhabit is breathtakingly beautiful, flowing and full of inventive surprises. You haven't lived until you've surfed cables high in the air, or ridden a graceful airship through the clouds. There are stunning effects on display when you use magic in combat, summoning gigantic monsters, fire-columns and more to devastate your foes. One new element is voice acting. The innovation yields predictably mixed results: it's wonderful to have spoken dialogue rather than subtitles, but as with most games translated from Japanese, the acting is mediocre and sometimes unintentionally hilarious. Still, the game's new graphics engine and solid gameplay are sure to please fans of the series waiting to see what Square has in store for them. While Final Fantasy X doesn't offer much innovation, it also doesn't disappoint. And fortunately, with Final Fantasy XI already in development, the title is still a misnomer. -- Andrew S Bub -- Dieser Text bezieht sich auf eine vergriffene oder nicht verf¿¿¿¿gbare Ausgabe dieses Titels.

Close Combat: Invasion Normandy (Exclusive Range) Platform: Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000 Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Description Review The fifth Close Combat game takes the series back where it started: in Normandy during Operation Overlord--the D-Day invasion. The game is played in real time, and you issue orders using a conventional mouse-driven interface, with the caveat that your units may simply refuse to do what you tell them if your orders would lead them to their destruction. Units that take excessive casualties (or become isolated or are simply inexperienced) will bolt for the rear, often leaving your lines in disarray. It's this depiction of the human element in warfare that makes the Close Combat series so interesting, and Invasion Normandy is no exception. The gameplay has been greatly improved and seems much more dynamic. Much of this is due to the vehicles and varied terrain, but it's also because the strategic component allows for choices that simply didn't exist in the previous linear campaigns. However, the flexibility of the campaigns is undermined by the fact that the strategic element is still rather primitive. Multiplayer CC gives you the chance to fight a human commander instead of the computer, and it's here that the Close Combat series really comes into its own. The game plays smoothly and is quite stable even when both players are on 56 K connections. In fact, the multiplayer mode is probably the best part of Close Combat: Invasion Normandy, and it helps make up for the fact that the computer opponent in the single-player mode tends to be passive and not particularly smart. There are a few new twists to the game: Because it portrays an invasion, Invasion Normandy includes artillery support from naval vessels. There are also paratroops in the game that start behind enemy lines and have to link up with friendly troops before they run out of supplies you'll also have the opportunity to make beach landings. Close Combat: Invasion Normandy isn't likely to surprise anyone. All the old elements remain, the graphics are basically unchanged and while the venue may have moved, it still seems very familiar. But for those who haven't yet played a Close Combat game, or for veterans looking for new maps and scenarios for this outstanding series, then Close Combat: Invasion Normandy provides plenty of new challenges. -- Trey Walker,.com

-- Andrew S Bub

Myst Trilogy, Includes: Myst, Riven and Myst III-Exile. (U) Platform: Windows 98, Windows 95 Condition: Pre-Owned/Used in Very Good Condition This Title Also Available As: New: Brand New and Sealed games available Please get in touch for information on these options. Pre-owned games supplied with applicable serial keys. However - please note: Any single use keys or activation codes may have already been used/redeemed. Product Information Myst Trilogy contains: Myst, Riven and Myst III: Exile Product Description Review Myst is an immersive experience that draws you in and won't let you go and this version contains all three outings to the Myst universe, Myst, Riven and Myst III Exile. You don't so much play Myst, as experience it. Of course you must solve a multitude of puzzles, mazes and problems, but Myst 's principal attractions are its environment and the underlying intra-family drama that unfolds as you explore. Unlike most adventure games, Myst offers no inventory, no death and no dialogue. Although puzzles don't seem to have much direct connection to the game, they share a commonality. They take on many forms but follow a consistent thread. Some puzzles are very challenging, even obtuse, creating an odd paradox: many buy but few complete it. Riven is a success in much the same vain. You'll see the same click/move/slide-show interface, along with similar mechanical and navigational puzzles and the now-familiar "wander and wonder" gameplay. Riven 's markedly improved graphics and sound further enhance the ambiance and make it even more immersive than its predecessor. The puzzles and problems are more cohesive, and there is more focus on story line. You begin where Myst left off. Atrus has another task for you: rescue his wife from the evil clutches of Atrus's father Gehn, then permanently imprison Gehn in one of those "trap" books from Myst. Your quest takes place in Riven, a fanciful world created by Gehn in the tradition of his ancestors--by simply imagining it and writing about it. Riven is a collection of small islands connected with catwalks, aerial trams and a mini-submarine. Myst III: Exile concerns Atrus's earnest attempt at creating a new world. He hopes this world will mark the rebirth of the D'ni, but before he finishes his book, a thief breaks into his laboratory and mucks things up. Within each world you must right the wrongs the thief has created, all the while uncovering a deeper mystery surrounding his relationship to Atrus and his troublesome children. New to the game is a full 3-D landscape, which replaces the static pre-rendered artwork of the previous games. The puzzles have been improved so that you can now see changes to the environment immediately after you solve one, rather than simply moving on to the next picture. Still, the puzzles are often wickedly difficult and may prove frustrating to new players. Myst fans of old will be delighted with this new version, and those new to the series will be enchanted, provided they are willing to spend time on the puzzles, enjoy the scenery and let the game carry them away.-- Andrew S Bub.com

Alien Resurrection (U) Platform: PlayStation Condition: Pre-Owned/Used in Very Good Condition This Title Also Available As: New: Brand New and Sealed games available Please get in touch for information on these options. Pre-owned games supplied with applicable serial keys. However - please note: Any single use keys or activation codes may have already been used/redeemed. Product Information Four playable characters, with different skills, abilities and weapons. Challenging puzzle elements. Environmantal audio presented in Dolby Surround. Ten colossal levels All of the legendary weapons from the Alien world Product Description Alien Resurrection (U) (PS1 Black Label) Review Take two parts weak plot, a hint of bad controls and crummy auto aiming, add a dash of overdone stretches of boredom amid short stretches of rather fierce action, and you've got Alien: Resurrection 's downside. But here is the upside: these are Ridley Scott's Aliens-they are coming for you relentlessly. The game gives you the heebie-jeebies when you're playing it all alone with the lights turned down low. The tension can often become palpable as you reload your weapon, administer a health pack and pray that the beasts don't hit you from a direction you hadn't anticipated. The premise of the game is pretty standard Alien fare: you, as Ripley, are locked in a life or death outer-space struggle to keep the devious Dr Wren from bringing alien samples to earth. The atmosphere created by Alien: Resurrection 's various environments, animation and sounds is the primary reason to purchase this game. Because it relies heavily on suspense--the sense that these adversaries can be nowhere and everywhere at the same time has never been more real in a game-- Alien: Resurrection can sometimes go even beyond what you would consider merely scary to an entirely new terrorising experience. The game engine supports all this with atmospherics like lighting effects, fogging, water (and blood?) dripping and other particle effects. But suspense can only go so far. As in the movies, if the actual confrontations with the aliens don't live up to expectations, the whole game can suffer. -- Todd Mowatt

The lowdown: As unlikely as it may sound at first this game takes considerable influence from the Grand Theft Auto series as you tour the ocean depths and seaside beaches, ensuring your place at the top of the food chain. Set thirty years after the original film, despite the fact that you spend the entire game snacking on swimmers and smaller denizens of the deep you¿¿¿re essentially a sort of fishy anti-hero as you set out to destroy the evil Environplus refinery on the island. As fun as this all sounds, and it is fun for the first few hours, the game is handicapped by some very clumsy controls and a perversely unhelpful camera. The idea that Jaws has the wherewithal to be using diver¿¿¿s passcards to open underwater doors also seems to stretch credibility rather too far. Most exciting moment: As well as following the storyline there¿¿¿s also a free roam mode where you can explore the ocean world and eat its contents. Apart from battling with giant squid and killer whales there¿¿¿s also a number of scenes from the movie to recreate, including the famous opening sequence with the buoy and the girl. Since you ask: Developers Appaloosa Interactive are the same team behind Ecco the Dolphin for the Dreamcast and PS2. The non-violent game worked in a similar manner and featured several great whites as enemies to be avoided. The bottom line: It¿¿¿s no classic but this isn¿¿¿t quite as bad as Jaws 4: The Revenge.
