POLLYWOG IS STOKED TO PRESENT THIS SICK SURFBOARD FROM MAYHEM! At Pollywog we understand one very important fact when it comes to surfboards, knowledge is power! Matt Biolos is one of the global leaders in surfboard design and technology, always on the cutting edge of design and new material construction. With a global surf team of note providing constant feedback, you can be sure that your board is packed with years of research and development, to give you the maximum amount of help while surfing. This ensures hours of fun in the water and the ability to improve your surfing rather than fighting with equipment that is not right for you. Matt visits South Africa at least once a year to check in on the factory and off course surf the amazing waves we are blessed with here in South Africa. He knows and understands the various wave set ups here in South Africa which is priceless when it comes to getting you the right board. The VooDoo Child features a modern, cutting edge, high performance, concave hull. There is a generous single and double concave cutting through curvy rail rocker, with the deepest concave being through the fins, directly under the rear foot. These elements work together to easily generate speed, and whip tight radius carves, still allowing controlled release for tail free surfing. Other elements include a more noticeably parallel outline through the center (for drive) that blends rapidly into a pulled in nose tip. There is a noticeable bump/hip into a wide squash tail, which encourages quick, angular surfing and harkens back to some classic lines from late 80¿s design ethos. The ¿V2-Grinder¿ is a V2-SB squished into a stubby, squatty little firecracker. First built for a few of my ¿Domestic¿ buddies whose surfing can be described as ¿ former pro level, now grown up, with kids and a job, surfing crappy beach breaks with my kids¿whenever I get a chance¿. Pleasantly surprised by rave reviews from the older, local heroes, we placed a few under the feet of some WCT and QS ¿Grinders¿. Ends up, the board is a superb small wave contest machine. With the likes of Carissa Moore and other world class competitors using them in lackluster conditions to great success, we included it in the line. To the V2s distinctive low entry and noticeable tail lift, we married an outline that resembles the classic Sub Scorcher. The wide tail block provides drive, lift and a stable platform in meager conditions. The short rail line and healthy amount of tail lift (paired with full and forgiving rails) still permeate the water and allow proper rail turns in small, tight, quirky shore pound. Don¿t be afraid to go Short n fat with this one! He knows and understands the various wave set ups here in South Africa which is priceless when it comes to getting you the right board. A board with all the positive traits of the SS2 (easy paddle and glide into waves, down line drive and holds speed though carves) but add more snap and release in the tail. A little more whip! I also didn¿t want to change the rocker or positive attributes of the board. Taking influence from Mark ¿MR¿ Richards, and his ¿Super Twin¿ outline, I added a pronounced single wing, which reduced the tail area, then foiled the rails overall (especially through the tail) making it easier to roll from side to side, and surf more on a rail. The dims are tweaked a bit from the DWSwallow, on most sizes, but the main ingredients remain. I would call it the easiest riding, all around pointy nose shortboard in our line. I ride them at 6¿2¿ 21¿ 2.75¿ (for groveling) to 6¿4¿ 21¿ 2.75¿ for every day surfing, and even have a magic 6¿6¿ 20.50 2.88¿, which I rode in solid surf all over Europe this fall. Based around maximum surface area for lift and stability in tiny surf. Balanced by a ¿double ender¿ outline and a tip to tail vee bottom, for forgiveness and on rail surfing in the smallest of waves. Similar to the Couch Potato, but with a wider tail and a lower overall rocker. It also features a flat (low center of gravity) and stable deck. This board is meant to be surfed very short. He knows and understands the various wave set ups here in South Africa which is priceless when it comes to getting you the right board. The latest in our quest for the ultimate ¿Domesticated¿ design. The RV is exactly as its name implies¿A ¿Recreational Vehicle¿. Designed for extracting maximum fun with minimum effort and ease of exploitation of your precious free time¿. If you want to cruise the coast in style and comfort, surf in a resplendent state of wave catching excess and bliss, then the R.V. is for you. The design stems from a blend of the Bottom Feeder/Couch Potato/LayZboy genre. Featuring the same ¿tip to tip¿ vee bottom as its predecessors. The vee negates the substantial volume and allows easy rail to rail transitions on wide, thick boards with a lot of surface area. Noticeable updates include the double wing flyers added to the tail, to reduce surface area and increase bite and precision in turns. The reduced surface area adds confidence of not sliding out in hard snaps, and carves. The nose outline has also been tweaked to reduce some are in the forward 12-18¿ of the board, but without reducing drive down the line or paddle ability. The nose feels like it ¿comes around¿ quicker in turns and looks ¿and feels, like more of a performance design. We also shallowed the vee up front (for more trim speed and instant burst in the take off) and actually deepened the vee under the rear foot. We did this for a more solid and forgiving¿¿controlled¿ feel in turns and carves AVAILABLE IN DIMENSIONS BELOW: LENGTH WIDTH THICKNESS CL¿S 5¿3¿ 20.00¿ 2.32¿ 27.78 5¿5¿ 20.50¿ 2.32¿ 29.41 5¿6¿ 20.75¿ 2.38¿ 30.10 5¿7¿ 21.00¿ 2.38¿ 31.94 5¿8¿ 21.25¿ 2.44¿ 33.83 5¿9¿ 21.50¿ 2.50¿ 35.77 5¿10¿ 21.75¿ 2.56¿ 37.52 5¿11¿ 22.00¿ 2.63¿ 39.62 6¿0¿ 22.25¿ 2.75¿ 42.18 6¿1¿ 22.50¿ 2.75¿ 43.71 6¿3¿ 23.00¿ 2.89¿ 48.19 6¿4¿ 23.00¿ 2.93¿ 49.23

He knows and understands the various wave set ups here in South Africa which is priceless when it comes to getting you the right board. Over the course of 2015, we made a few of these round tail PJ's as custom orders mainly for people looking to get a little more range out of a board design they really liked. It¿s essentially the same board as before, but with a rounded tail that is narrower in the last 18', and with just a subtle bit of extra rocker bent into the tip and tail. The stock dims are scaled a bit differently, taking into account that many people will ride the round tail 1" - 2" longer than the original squash tail PJ. This board will still ride very small waves with ease, yet can be ridden in much larger and powerful surf than the OG Puddle Jumper. The curvier outline (and slightly extra end rocker) fits better in tight radius beach breaks while holding long arcs with control in large, open face point and reef waves...all without forsaking paddle power and stability. In the tradition of the Scorcher and Sub Scorcher, this board is based around not having to work for your speed. The conservative rocker has a constant curve, and combined with soft, forgiving rails, a curvy outline and a shallow concave, it keeps from feeling sticky and flat¿like many low rocker Shortboards. After four years of tweaking and testing this most radical of fish designs we are proud to finally announce its release. Pelagic species are known as ¿The fastest, most stream lined and agile of all open ocean fish¿. With a lifetime of snowboarding, I have always been intrigued with the concept of side cut outline as applied to surfboards. Side cuts in surfboard outlines are not new. The concept has been dabbled with for decades. In the spring of 2008, I saw an old ¿Bill Caster¿ surfboard (with a particularly interesting version of side cut) hanging on a wall at Heritage Surf shop, in New Jersey. It immediately caught my attn. I returned home and begin to play with curves and come up with my first prototype. In surfboards, everything is balance. Curvy rockers need to balance with straighter outlines and curvy outlines need flatter rockers. These principles became very apparent in the development of the Pelagic. Beginning with a fairly standard RNF template, we added a point at 12¿ from the tail and carved a reverse, side-cut, outline from there forward, into the wide point just above center. This effectively creates a reversed curve outline between the riders stance. To balance the negative outline curve, we have added a tremendous amount of rail rocker through the center of the board. The final component is a very low, straight and fast centerline rocker, which cuts a massively deep concave through the rail rocker. A souped up, slimmed down, minimalist, high performance machine. Designed purely with feedback from skilled competitive surfers. Soon after getting the V2-SB under the feet of athletes, feedback started coming in. ¿It¿s amazing, but¿make me one that¿s more HP..like a Whiplash or F1-Stub¿. Working with Grom Phenom, Griffin Colapinto, and fast, light footed pro, Evan Gieselman, we started by importing a Whiplash type of outline onto the V2SB. Looking for more curve, we added nose rocker only in the forward 12-18¿ (Freeing it up in nose picks, tail first landings and radical direction changes). The rails are bit lower than the V2 and the concave in the tail more shallow¿lending more control at high speeds and better to surf on a rail. All this combines for board specifically suited for above average surfers who want performance, unhindered by un-needed bulk or excess volume. Since its inception many WCT and WQS Athletes have adopted it as their go-to fave. Travis Logie, Coco Ho, Malia Manual, Balaram Stack, Luke Davis, the Gieselman Bros and a host of WQS Warriors, and amateur Supergroms like Griffin Colapinto and Kei Kobayashi use the V2-HP as their weapon of choice in most anything above 2¿ dribble. A wider, thicker, flatter, fatter, fuller, faster, floatier, funner, freakishly fantastic prodgetic-ly paddling stepdown version of the V2 Rocket. The nose is flat, full and wide, the Rocker is lower overall and volume is generously distributed further into the rails and farther out to the nose and tail; So ride it a couple inches shorter, and a good ½ wider, than a Rocket or V2 to get that great ¿Rocket¿ feeling in even smaller, more crowded junky waves. Shown here in ¿E-Technologies¿ EPS and SuperSap Epoxy, with mosaic bamboo inlay deck and resin tint bottom. All V2 Stubs are designed with 5 fin options. POLLYWOG IS STOKED TO PRESENT THIS SICK SURFBOARD FROM MAYHEM! At Pollywog we understand one very important fact when it comes to surfboards, knowledge is power! In the tradition of the Rocket and its many knock offs, the Shortround bridges the gap between easy riding ¿cheater¿ boards and the HP Shortboard. Tested all around Southern California in the summer of 2014, this board has more than impressed. The buzz about it is spreading fast. The speed comes from a low entry rocker and wide-ish nose, with a forward wide point and generous concave throughout. The performance comes from a moderate, but not flipped up, tail rocker, a double concave through the fins and the same sort of modern bump squash tail that you would find on a typical contest style, small wave HP shortboard. All combined, it doesn¿t look like anything fancy and there are no gimmicks, but some times less is more, and there is a lot packed into this little board. Placing a typical shortboard squash tail on the Rocket takes some area out of the tail, shortens the rail line and makes for a predictable, less drifty, neutral ride. Not as flashy looking as the Rocket or Grocket, the Squashet flew mostly under the radar in 2010. Combining all the advantages of a stubby, low entry Rocket, with the positive feeling tail of a performance short board, makes the Squashet the purest hybrid in our line. Pulled in single wing, swallow tail (for tight radius control and precision) and a touch more nose rocker make this hybrid of the Rocket the choice for light, fast, snappy surfers. He knows and understands the various wave set ups here in South Africa which is priceless when it comes to getting you the right board. The Lazy Toy takes high volume/low rocker, neutral bottom curves, small wave surfboard designs to a wider range of waves and a more versatile and diverse playing field. Using an elliptical, ¿Double ender¿ outline, the Lazy Toy is inspired by the boards ridden by guys like Wayne Lynch and Michael Peterson in the 1970¿s. These elliptical, continuous curves and outlines, combined with our proven ¿Domesticated¿ rockers, create a board that has a very open and forgiving sweet spot (as far as foot placement goes) and can be ridden in waves from knee high to over head with ease. Because of the narrow hipped, continuous curve, outline, you can surf this with a centered stance for down the line 70¿s inspired speed runs, down carves and cutbacks¿. or step back on the tail and go vertical off the bottom and in the pocket. The bottom contours (mostly flat rail to rail, with rolled, soft edges and a spiral vee under the rear foot) neutralize the high volume and free the board up, making it easy to push and permeate the rail deep and perpendicular into the face of the wave¿..rather than skate flat on top of the water. Paddling? What do you expect¿.like a Cadillac¿for Domestic Domination. During 2009, as the F1 became a board of choice for many team riders, the low end limitations of the design were becoming apparent. Looking to make the F1 excel in smaller gutless surf, we widened and slightly lowered the rocker in the nose for forward glide (but kept the tail rocker the same). We increased rail volume and straightened the outline via a hip making the tail wider in front of the fins and at the tail block ¿ adding drive, lift and tight radius pivot, but keeps same width at 12¿ for control. Coco Ho won back to back WQS events in Brazil on her magic F1 Stub this fall. Young Aussie Phenom, J.W., used an F1 Stub to make 3 WQS finals in a row and secure a late season push for 2011 WT qualification. Fine tuning and intensive RnD with top pros during 2010 has netted an F1 Stub that is a contest proven, quintessential, modern, everyday performance surfboard. First designed as a stubby, hot dogging, tube hounding machine for Kolohe Andino, this board continues to remain popular, year after year. With proponents praising its worth around the world, it remains a vital part of our line up. Its screaming fast low entry rocker, a wide-ish nose and ¿Driver¿ tail rocker, its one of the fastest down the line boards we have ever had. The Round pin tail retains generous surface area and still has pop, even in smallish surf. A very clean and elliptical outline that moves free and easy inside the tube. The Mini Driver performed as hoped for Kolohe, but has also been a proven player in even weekend afternoon Grom comp, in 2¿ wind slop. The board works in everything and is still a custom order favorite around the globe. The board that Kolohe Andino rode as a WQS surfer, and used to qualify for the WCT (at 17 years old). Probably the most popular and successful small wave contest board we have ever made. Similar to The Driver, but with a wider nose and significantly wider tail block. The low tail rocker works with a generous nose lift. It commands and demands a surfer to really use their rear foot, and commit to turns. Not for a flicky, front footed snappy surfer, but for proper rail and tail driving. This is also the board that Mick Fanning pulled out of our rafters, and used in the Hurley Pro 2012, at Lowers. It basically forced him to re-think what his idea of the modern contest surfboard was. Kolohe qualifying on, and Mick¿s performance on and praise of The Sub Driver, are two major points in ¿Losts competitive board building history. He knows and understands the various wave set ups here in South Africa which is priceless when it comes to getting you the right board. When it¿s really small and mushy you can forget the long board. Originally inspired after trying a friend¿s ¿Mini Simmons¿ twin keel, retro board in knee high lumps. The board was fast and fun, but I couldn¿t really lay into it. Motivated to do better, I hand shaped a ¿Green Foam¿ recycled fish blank and attacked the 6¿0¿ blank like a high school sculpture project¿. keeping in mind the unique glide of that ¿Simmons¿. The blank was pretty thin, so I left the deck flat. It¿s really wide, so no concave. Looking for ridiculous glide, but demanding aggressive turning, I left it really straight rockered, but did a little flip out the back. I made it a strong bump, diamond tail. In place of the twin keels, wanting a more reliable feeling, I chose to make it a quad, and used a Future Fins solid glass fin we have been playing with as the template. That first ¿Plank¿ was about 6¿0¿ x 22¿ x 2.5¿ full, and was the easiest board I have ever ridden in waves I would normally only bother with on a long board. The ¿Plank¿ catches anything and does full rail roundhouse cutbacks on 10¿ high lumps of water. If you like the way it looks, and want a truly unique and extreme small wave tool to keep you off that log, then think about custom ordering one of these. I guarantee you won¿t be let down. Next in line of our continuing collaboration with Taj Burrow, is the aptly name ¿Tube Pig¿. This one came about in 2014, when building a quiver for Taj to ride at home, in WA. We made a handful of boards specifically built to withstand beatings from, and perform on, the battering wind-buffed barrels of his beloved beach breaks and radical reefs. Not concerned so much with contests, ultra-light weights, or whipping airs and ¿finners", we built a bit of substance into a few boards in hopes they would last and fit the demanding conditions. One board in particular was just over 5¿9¿ 18.32¿ 2.25¿ and 25 liters of volume. Featuring a more pronounced round pin tail, with a narrower than average hip between the feet, and a slightly wider than typical nose, it ooozed of drive. Married to the outline is a pretty typical high performance rocker profile, but with less concave throughout, which runs the rail rocker pretty parallel to the stringer line. Year after year this board continues to be Kolohe Andinos go to board. Whether as a 5¿11 squash tail, 6¿0 round tail, or stretched to a 6¿1 round pin¿It is still his main rocker for the WCT events to this day. Defined by a long, straight rocker through the middle of the board that then lifts to a healthy nose rocker (so the board redirects when put on a rail) and a low, but curvy tail rocker that¿s moved way back under the rear foot. A board that likes to be ¿Driven¿ by a strong and forceful surfer, who uses their strength and commitment to the rail, in turning a board. Surfers like Julian Wilson and Tyler Wright have also used Drivers to win World Tour events. A great Shortboard for any strong surfer who might tend to overpower most flicky or loose rockered boards.
