An interesting QSA / WW1 medal group correctly named to 21899 Tpr. A.S.C.Hartigan - 106th Coy, Imp:Yeo. The BWM is named to 8/ Sgt A.S.C.Hartigan - S.A.N.L.C. His records show (also included) that he was not due a Victory medal as part of the SANLC - see picture below. However it seems he may have been due a Victory medal as part of the SA Expeditionery Forces - I have not checked dates of validity so the successful bidder can do some more research on this one. All three clasps on the QSA confirmed (CC /OFS / Tvl). Court mounted for display. Research does not form part of this sale but can be purchased at R150.00.        Here he seems due for a Victory medal??.  Naming on the QSA is correct - see picture above. A fully confirmed and correctly named QSA / WW 1 medal group to Pte Samuel Denner (Devon regiment). Please see pictures for all the information about this group. Please note - the British War medal - suspender broken off. Replacement ribbon. Group also has a regiment badge and some rings (probably trench type art made by Denner?). I have his records and will provide them to the successful bidder as part of the sale. He is mentioned in Biggens book on Elandslaagte with a note that a duplicate medal was returned. (South African Light Horse) The same Regiment in which Winston Churchill served after his escape during the Boer War. Adlard Died of Wounds at Mooirivier in Natal on 31 January 1900.(see scans from www.AngloBoerWar.com) Adlard's initials are incorrect on his QSA.(Named as "W").
