Nazi Germany, Deutsche, Reichsbank building, Gold Plated bar Edition Technical Specs Presentation Country:   Metal Purity:    Gold Plated, Gilded Box:   Year of Issue:   Weight:   1 oz CoA:   Face Value:   Dimensions:   44x 28¿mm     Quality:       Mintage:     New bar with capsule Gold plated gift bar with images of Iron Cross and Reichsbank building in Berlin. Reichsbank was founded in 1876 as a central bank of German Empire, then later Weimar Republic and at last the Third Reich. Reichsbank was abolished after the World War II. Its functions were assumed by newly founded banks of Eastern Germany and Western Germany. The building of Reichsbank depicted on the bar was not the only one; in the age of the Third Reich the Reichsbank was complemented by a larger building in another place. The gold reserves of the Reichsbank in Nazi period were raised mainly by the theft of the property of invaded countries and prisoners of concentration camps. Great amount of wedding rings and golden teeth of victims of fascist regime were melted down as bullion. Golden teeth of prisoners were found in the vaults of the Reichsbank in 1945 after the WWII ended. The bar approximate dimensions are 44x28 mm. It¿s valuable as a collection item. ____________________________________________________  Feel free to e-mail me with any questions.

NAZI LIES (incomplete)                                                                                          R195   A booklet, date unknown, but thought to be 1939, as the fep quotes part of Chamberlain’s broadcast address to the German People of 4 th September 1939. For it’s age this booklet is still in good condition, though corners are mildly curled. It is unfortunate that pages 15 to 22 are missing, but what remains provides good insight into the workings of the Goebbels propaganda machine.   FOR FULL DETAILS OF THIS BOOK AND ADDITIONAL PHOTOS PLEASE CONTACT THE SELLER

Johannesburg (Gauteng)
Subtitle: The Conspiracy to Stop the '94 Election Author: Peter Harris With Author's Inscription Publisher: Struik () ISBN-10: ISBN-13: Condition: Very Good Binding: Softcover Pages: 320 Dimensions: 22.2 x 14.9 x 2.5 cm +++ by Peter Harris (With Author's Inscription) +++ The country was ablaze. There were bomb blasts, massacres, assasinations. The right wing wanted a Volkstaat; Inkatha wanted secession for KwaZulu and was prepared to fight for it. It was a time fraught with danger. Peter Harris saw it all from the inside. In January he was seconded to the newly formed Independent Electoral Commission with South Africa's first democratic election only three months away. This story - enthralling, moving, thrilling - reveals the forces at work behind the scenes: those intent on destruction, those committed to delivering an election against the odds, and a conspiracy to strike at the heart of the election.   A passion for books and a passion for collecting fine editions was the recipe that created the successful group of bookshops in Johannesburg called Bookdealers. The group started thirty years ago with one store in the quirky suburb of Yeoville and has grown through the years to a total of five shops, plus our online sales. Bookdealers is well-known for its collectable and used books. We also have a large variety of remaindered books sourced from around the world.  If you collect from one of our five branches there is no delivery charge. We also offer postal delivery (when available) and courier delivery, subject to a quote.

Growing up on the wrong side of the tracks in post-war Johannesburg, Carnie Matisonn learns of a great-uncle in occupied Norway murdered by Nazi soldiers as they looted his prized art collection. He starts a lifelong quest to retrieve the art that takes him into the murky waters of apartheid sanctions-busting, Mossad agents, international art dealers and Nazi hunters. Matisonn's enthralling story – told here with journalist Charles Cilliers – embraces courage, wit and wisdom as he shows one man can achieve the impossible.

Isaac's Army: A Story of Courage & Survival in Nazi - Occupied Poland. (2013). Brzezinski.   450 PAGES.   An account of the development of the Secret  Jewish Resistance Force within the Polish Underground after the German invasion and Blitzkrieg of September 1939.   A guerrilla formation and spy network who worked tirelessly to hamper German forces in their effort to maintain control in the occupied General Government region of Poland. All forms of sabotage were employed, including destruction of railway links and demolition of power lines in an attempt to disrupt the movement of troops and supplies to the Eastern Front. Espionage activity by underground agents  who risked life and limb to provide Allied forces with much needed information and documents required to succeed in the war effort, resulted in fewer than 100 individuals actually surviving the war after 1945.   An ideal read for those interested in Resistance movements and espionage activity against Nazi occupation forces in Europe during the Second World War.   FOREIGN BIDDERS TO PAY USING BOB BUCKS - QUOTED SHIPPING  NO COLLECTIONS  PAYMENT IN 7 DAYS OR SNC SEE SHIPPING

This item is sold brand new. It is ordered on demand from our supplier and is usually dispatched within 7 - 11 working days Just a week after the Kristallnacht terror in , young Luzie Hatch, a German Jew, fled Berlin to resettle in New York. Her rescuer was an American-born cousin and industrialist, Arnold Hatch. Arnold spoke no German, so Luzie quickly became translator, intermediary, and advocate for family left behind. Soon an unending stream of desperate requests from German relatives made their way to Arnold's desk. Luzie Hatch had faithfully preserved her letters both to and from far-flung relatives during the World War II era as well as copies of letters written on their behalf. This extraordinary collection, now housed at the American Jewish Committee Archives, serves as the framework for "Exit Berlin." Charlotte R. Bonelli offers a vantage point rich with historical context, from biographical information about the correspondents to background on U.S. immigration laws, conditions at the Vichy internment camps, refuge in Shanghai, and many other topics, thus transforming the letters into a riveting narrative. Arnold's letters reveal an unfamiliar side of Holocaust history. His are the responses of an "average" American Jew, struggling to keep his own business afloat while also assisting dozens of relatives trapped abroad--most of whom he had never met and whose deathly situation he could not fully comprehend. This book contributes importantly to historical understanding while also uncovering the dramatic story of one besieged family confronting unimaginable evil. Features Summary The agonizing correspondence between Jewish family members ensnared in the Nazi grip and their American relatives Author Charlotte R Bonelli (Author), Natascha Bodemann (Translator), Deborah E Lipstadt (Foreword by) Publisher Yale University Press Release date Pages 320 ISBN ISBN

It is ordered on demand from our supplier and is usually dispatched within 24 hours Adapted from the novel by Thomas Keneally, Steven Spielberg s masterful film tells the incredible true story of the courageous Oskar Schindler (Liam Neeson). Initially a member of the Nazi party, the Catholic Schindler risks his career and life, and ultimately goes bankrupt, to employ Jews in his crockery factory during the Holocaust.
