Niue 1 dollar Christmas Star Shaped silver coin with zircons 2010 Edition Technical Specs Presentation Country: Niue Metal Purity: Ag925 Box: Blister:ᅠYes Year of Issue: 2010 Weight: 28,28 CoA: Yes Face Value: 1 dollar Dimensions: 44 Quality: Proof Mintage: 15,000 New coin with capsule, CoA and blister packing In Christian tradition, the Star of Bethlehem, also called the Christmas Star,[1] revealed the birth of Jesus to the Biblical Magi, and later led them to Bethlehem. The star appears only in the nativity story of the Gospel of Matthew, where astrologers from the east are inspired by the star to travel to Jerusalem. There they meet King Herod of Judea, and ask where the king of the Jews had been born. Herod, following a verse from the Book of Micah interpreted as a prophecy, directs them to Bethlehem, to the south of Jerusalem. The star leads them to Jesus' home in the town, where they worship him and give him gifts. The wise men are then given a divine warning not to return to Herod so they return home by a different route. ____________________________________________________ Feel free to e-mail me with any questions.

Using Princess Diana's somber funeral as the frame, this video ("The Official BBC Commemorative Video," the packaging boasts) takes an admiring and elegant look at the world's most photographed woman. Thrust into the public eye at age 19, the aristocratic teen married into the royal family and became, as has been much quoted, the People's Princess. These well-narrated video segments (yes, BBC footage) are from official and public events: from photographers' pursuits of the child-care worker to her engagement to Prince Charles to her magnificent wedding (seen by more than 5 million viewers) to Prince William's birth to her many royal tours, duties, and speeches. The Diana who captured the public's fancy, who held hands with AIDs patients, who embraced the homeless, who championed land-mine victims, who departed from the stuffy royal ways, is respectfully captured here. While the controversial Andrew Morton book and her separation and subsequent divorce from Prince Charles are covered, the producers elected to steer clear of the more sensational and gossipy aspects of her fulfilled, though difficulty-plagued, life. Whatever the Buckingham Palace spin is--that Charles is experiencing renewed popularity, that his longtime mistress is gradually being accepted, and that Diana, by those in Charles's camp, was "crazy"--it cannot detract from the remarkable and impressive legacy Diana unselfishly left for Britain and for her sons, one of whom will one day be king. --N.F.Mendoza

2008 Mahatma Ghandi 1/10oz Gold Proof   The Protea coin series commemorates various aspects and important events in the history of South Africa. The 2008 Protea Coin Series will feature Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi – better known as Mahatma Gandhi (1869 – 1948). Mahatma Gandhi lived in South Africa from April 1893 to July 1914 Although not South African by birth, he said “I was born in India, but I was made in South Africa”. He said these words because he first started with his campaign of “Ahimsa” (non-violence) and “Satyagraha” (way of truth) while he was campaigning for freedom in South Africa.   Gandhi influenced both nationalist and internationalist movements and brought the cause of India’s independence from British colonial rule to world attention. Gandhi’s principle of satyagraha (from Sanskrit satya: truth, and graha: grasp/hold), has also inspired other democratic activists, including Martin Luther King, Jr., John Lennon and the 14 th Dalai Lama.   The title of “Mahatma” (Sanskrit term of reverence “mahatma” meaning “one of great soul”) was accorded on Gandhi in 1915 by his admirer Rabindranath Tagore (the first Asian to win the Nobel Prize for Literature). It was given in response to Gandhi conferring the title of “Gurudev” Hindus and Muslims in India made Gandhi a target and he was shot and killed on 30 th  January 1948 by a Hindu extremist. It is ironic that this great pacifist, the first to employ non-violence in a political context, was never awarded the Nobel Peace Prize! The 1960 Nobel Peace Prize winner, Chief Albert Luthuli from South Africa, applied Gandhi’s principles while fighting apartheid South Africa. The profound lessons Gandhi leant that South Africa, spurned him to stand-up and without violence fight for his beloved India, earning him the title of “Father of the Nation”
