19cm bonsai general

Top sales list 19cm bonsai general

South Africa
Scissors are the most commonly used bonsai tool and are the most crucial tool in the bonsai artists toolbox. For the price, these black carbon steel 19cm scissors made in China cannot be beaten. You will be able to use them to cut twigs and even thin branches. Anything thicker and you should consider purchasing the Bonsai Branch Cutter. The differences between scissors designed and made specifically for bonsai and normal scissors are many. Bonsai scissors have a completely different shaped handle which makes a lot of cutting comfortable. The blades are shaped differently and made considerably thicker to enable thicker cuts than a normal scissors can manage. The tips of the blades also slightly overlap to enable clean cuts, which in turn enables faster healing.

What is it? Every few years, bonsai trees should be removed from their containers and the old growing medium replaced. As bonsai grow in very small containers with little growing medium, your choice of medium is important to ensure trees grow healthily for years. This General Soil Mix contains Mature Milled Pine Bark for adequate water retention. Coarse Crushed Silica Stone is added for drainage and to prevent compaction which may deprive the roots of life giving oxygen. Unlike fresh pine bark which some mixes contain, our mature bark will not consume Nitrogen, depriving the bonsai tree of growth. Good drainage reduces risk of root rot and ultimate demise of a tree. How to use? The mix is ready to be used right out of the bag in most cases. Should you require a drier, faster draining mix then add Leca. If you require more water retention then add more Peat Moss. Both components are part of our Bonsai range. Garden soil is too fine and should never be used in growing mixes. Bag Contents 50% Mature Milled Pine Bark 50% Crushed Silica Stone

These economical bonsai scissors are an indispensable tool in any bonsai artists toolbox. Bonsai scissors are used for all many of tasks and you may have several different sizes as your collection of trees grow. They are indispensable for cutting twigs, thinner branches and even leaves when you defoliate a tree. These general purpose bonsai scissors are part of the Japanese made Kikuwa range of bonsai tools. Each tool is packaged in a plastic pouch. If you have already acquired the basic or all purpose bonsai scissors then a pair of trimming scissors should be next on your list to get. The key difference between a pair of normal scissors and these trimming scissors lies in the shape. The shape of the trimming scissors allows this work to be performed without the risk of breaking surrounding branches when the tool is closed. Available Sizes 210mm Material Steel Origin Japan

Features Particle size = 1 ~ 3mm Growing medium of Japanese bonsai masters High quality Ibaraki brand akadama Hard type (retains shape longest) Exclusively imported from Japan by Bonsai Tree. Available in 2L bag, 5L bag and 14L bags. Description Akadama is a granular volcanic clay-like (although it is not clay) mineral which occurs naturally in Japan. It has been extensively used by Japanese gardeners and bonsai artists for many centuries as a growing medium for bonsai trees and other container-grown plants. It is mined from the surface of the ground, after which it is graded and packaged. Unlike LECA it is not fired at high temperatures however when it is mined from greater depths it tends to be harder or it might be slightly baked. Akadama is unique as a growing medium and is sought after due to its ability for water retention and nutrients due to its high CEC value. However at the same time it provides porosity and free drainage. Uses This fine (1~3mm) particle size akadama is suited to shohin and general bonsai growing mixes as a top dressing to encourage fine surface rooting. Akadama can be combined with other elements such as crushed stone, composted bark, peat, or for best effect use pumice.
