Component Engineer - Trim (Uitenhage) Contract (R15 000 - R30 000) Depending on exp A relevant degree / diploma in Engineering or equivalent (polymer/industrial design or mechanical would be advantageous) Relevant proven experience in an industrial environment Good technical problem solving ability Computer literate (Microsoft office tools) Ability to deal with automotive component suppliers (experience advantageous) German knowledge, or willingness to learn To ensure company products are engineered to local market requirements by designing, developing, testing and introducing locally manufactured components, by adapting and developing German sourced designs to be compatible with local environmental conditions and by issuing technical data in line with the correct component engineering level: Responsibilities: The design, development and release of locally manufactured Trim components The resolution of design related problems on all locally manufactured platforms Co-ordination of testing and release of components & system locally and at source Maintaining and updating the BOM system Problem analysis Maintaining and updating the bill of materials system Cost analysis of various components, systems and projects Cost saving (PKO) initiation and investigations Project management on new or changed systems and components Initiative, be a self-starter with the ability to work independently Excellent communication skills Willingness to travel occasionally
