YOUNG MEN WITH UNLIMITED CAPITAL - JOEL ROSENMAN, JOHN IN JOHANNESBURG
It was billed as the WOODSTOCK MUSIC AND ARTS FAIR, THREE DAYS OF PEACE & MUSIC, August 15, 16, 17, 1969. Critics and comics called it "Nightmare in the Catskills" "A Capitalist Rip-off" and "the first attempt to land a man on the earth". Six months earlier four young men, two of them particularly hip and the other two, Roseman and Roberts, particularly solvent, had decided to throw a rock concert in a cow pasture. An hour before show time, with half a million people squeezing onto a hillside designed for a hundred thousand, and a million more reported on the way, the only thing going right was the weather. An hour later it began to rain.
