SENIOR ICT INFRASTRUCTURE SPECIALIST IN SOUTH AFRICA

Salary up to R per annum depending on experience and qualifications Pretoria based company requires a Senior ICT Infrastructure Specialist The applicant will work in partnership with the company’s IT Group’s senior management team to advise them regarding the suitability, resilience and operational status of IT infrastructure systems at the organisation. Appropriate University or Technical University Degree Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Project Management VMware training – Configure and Manage Enterprise Storage – Configure and Manage Enterprise Project Management At least 15 years information technology experience covering both systems support and systems design areas At least 5 years of department and business management experience Must have worked in positions where project management skills have been clearly demonstrated. In depth understanding of Microsoft and VMware virtualization solutions. Practical knowledge of advanced network maintenance and design practices. Experienced in the design, installation and operation of enterprise server and storage systems and networks. Good understanding of applicable IT Governance and Quality Assurance systems. Practical knowledge of advanced network maintenance and design practices. IT Infrastructure Design and Management Define new and improved IT system specifications where these are needed to meet the growing operational requirements of the organisation; Schedule the inclusion of infrastructure upgrade requirements into the company IT Development Road Map and budget update cycle; Plan and manage the procurement and deployment of any additions or upgrades to the core IT infrastructure systems; Operational Support Assist IT system engineers and desktop support staff with problem resolution at a third tier support level; Review IT policies and procedures and deliver appropriate advice regarding essential amendments and improvements; Implement complex changes or upgrades on existing core IT infrastructure components and systems. Development Project Management of key IT infrastructure and application system development projects; Develop documentation that clearly summarises the design, operation and configuration of all core IT infrastructure components; Design, develop and test comprehensive business continuity plans together with appointed business continuity consultants; Maintain comprehensive information backup policies to ensure that data retention requirements are met; Schedule and conduct IT administrator training programs; Train IT system engineers and administrators in the correct operation and administration of advanced infrastructure systems; Recommend appropriate user training programs.
