The Hermanus Beach Club is built on the rocky coastline of Hermanus, near to the New Harbour and is about 3Km from the centre of town. Hermanus is about 115Km / 1 hour and 20 minutes drive from Cape Town along the N2 highway to Botriver and then on the R43 to Hermanus. The Beach Club offers lots of entertainment for all ages, young and old: Tennis courts, Adult and children's swimming pools, Miniature Golf (Putt-Putt), Squash courts, Gym, Pool Tables as well as communal braai areas. In the clubhouse there is a pub as well as a fully stocked Tuck Shop. It also has its own laundromat and area to hang washing. Leisurely seafront walks, collecting sea shells and just watching the ocean move past and superb whale watching between June and November. The Hermanus Beach Club offers a state of the art security network encompassing 24 hour Manned Security, Electric Fences, Infra-Red Beams and Motion Detecting Cameras. Hermanus beaches are sandy paradises of sun and sea offering swimming, surfing, sun bathing, horse riding, walks and kite surfing which is very popular and spectacular to watch. Fernkloof Nature Reserve offers many mountain paths where you can take in all the fauna and flora. A Farmers market is held there every Saturday morning where you can find some of our local flavours. Sea kayaking is very popular and no experience is necessary. Very stable kayaks are used with highly experienced guides. Paragliding is also very popular with the hill directly behind the town used as a take off area making full use of the sea breeze. The sky is often full of brightly coloured Paragliders.
