(This title is available on demand: expected date of dispatch will be 4-7 working days once ordered) Oaths sworn... loyalties tested... forces collide. It's been only months since Eragon first uttered brisingr, the ancient language term for fire. Since then, he's not only learned to create magic with words-he's been challenged to his very core. Following the colossal battle against the Empire's warriors on the Burning Plains, Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have narrowly escaped with their lives. Still, there is more adventure at hand for the Rider and his dragon, as Eragon finds himself bound by a tangle of promises he may not be able to keep. First is Eragon's oath to his cousin, Roran: to help rescue Roran's beloved from King Galbatorix's clutches. But Eragon owes his loyalty to others, too. The Varden are in desperate need of his talents and strength-as are the elves and dwarves. When unrest claims the rebels and danger strikes from every corner, Eragon must make choices-choices that will take him across the Empire and beyond, choices that may lead to unimagined sacrifice. Eragon is the greatest hope to rid the land of tyranny. Can this once simple farm boy unite the rebel forces and defeat the king? Format:Paperback Pages:784

" Have you ever wondered what it would be like to grow up with the wilds of Africa in your back yard ?  Bill Taylor, the author of Wet Breams, was raised in East Africa. Although he was the son of a Seventh Day Adventist missionary doctor and was sent away to England, South Africa, France, and the United States for most of his formal education, he was allowed to run wild in the bush around his boyhood home. Wet Breams is an anecdotal collection of memoirs about his unusual life. Most of the stories are uproariously funny. They entertain like tall tales, but in Taylor's case, the stories are (mostly, I suspect) true. Take for example the time as a teenager when he managed to live for three months within a herd of elephants. In order to be accepted by the herd, he first had to take off all his clothes and cover himself in elephant dung. In this state, he then had to hang out around the edge of the herd for over three days before the elephants would allow him to walk among them. William Holmes Taylor holds a degree in Biology and a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. The African bush is his passion and the place where he spends most of his time and energy. Dentistry is merely one of his on-again-off-again hobbies, a labor of necessity, not a labor of love.

The Bookman's Promise. a Cliff Janeway Novel Dunning, J. ISBN 10: 0743249925 ISBN 13: 9780743249928 Book Description: Scribner, New York, 2004. First Edition. Octavo. Signed and dated by the author on the title page, with an insription to the bookseller on the page following the front free end paper. Includes number "1" in the printing number line. Hard Cover. Book Condition: Near Fine. Binding: Blue Boards. Jacket: Near Fine. SIGNED BY AUTHOR. Bookseller Inventory # 00026   Synopsis: Cliff Janeway is back! The Bookman's Promise marks the eagerly awaited return of Denver bookman-author John Dunning and the award-winning crime novel series that helped to turn the nation on to first-edition book collecting. First, it was Booked to Die, then The Bookman's Wake. Now John Dunning fans, old and new, will rejoice in The Bookman's Promise, a richly nuanced new Janeway novel that juxtaposes past and present as Denver ex-cop and bookman Cliff Janeway searches for a book and a killer. The quest begins when an old woman, Josephine Gallant, learns that Janeway has recently bought at auction a signed first edition by the legendary nineteenth-century explorer Richard Francis Burton. The book is a true classic, telling of Burton's journey (disguised as a Muslim) to the forbidden holy cities of Mecca and Medina. The Boston auction house was a distinguished and trustworthy firm, but provenance is sometimes murky and Josephine says the book is rightfully hers. She believes that her grandfather, who was living in Baltimore more than eighty years ago, had a fabulous collection of Burton material, including a handwritten journal allegedly detailing Burton's undercover trip deep into the troubled American South in 1860. Josephine remembers the books from her childhood, but everything mysteriously disappeared shortly after her grandfather's death. With little time left in her own life, Josephine begs for Janeway's promise: he must find her grandfather's collection. It's a virtually impossible task, Janeway suspects, as the books will no doubt have been sold and separated over the years, but how can he say no to a dying woman? It seems that her grandfather, Charlie Warren, traveled south with Burton in the spring of 1860, just before the Civil War began. Was Burton a spy for Britain? What happened during the three months in Burton's travels for which there are no records? How did Charlie acquire his unique collection of Burton books? What will the journal, if it exists, reveal? When a friend is murdered, possibly because of a Burton book, Janeway knows he must find the answers. Someone today is willing to kill to keep the secrets of the past, and Janeway's search will lead him east: To Baltimore, to a Pulitzer Prize-winning author with a very stuffed shirt, and to a pair of unorthodox booksellers. It reaches a fiery conclusion at Fort Sumter off the coast of Charleston, South Carolina. What's more, a young lawyer, Erin d'Angelo, and ex-librarian Koko Bujak, have their own reasons for wanting to find the journal. But can Janeway trust them?  John Gregory - The Boss - with Martin Swain - Andre Deutsch - 2000 - 276pp, indexed, full-colour photographs -Hard cover with dust cover in good, clean and tight condition. This is John Gregory's sensational story of his time at Aston Villa so far, having been dramatically appointed manager in February 1998. Open and honest, forthright and confident John Gregory talks about managing Stan Collymore and Paul Merson, his wheeling and dealing and his negotiations through the high-profile minefield that is the English Premiership. On 18 Feb 1998 John Gregory was preparing his Wycombe Wanderers side for a Second Division relegation battle in Bristol when the call from Villa came through. Within days, Gregory found himself preparing Aston Villa for a vital Premiership game with Liverpool that Villa won 2-1. His fixture was against Atletico Madird in the UEFA Cup quarter final. In his first season in charge, John Gregory led Villa from sixth from bottom to seventh from top with nine wins in eleven games. He transformed the season in three months even managing to sneak Villa into Europe. The Boss is his full and frank far-from-the-heart account of his Aston Villa years. He talks about losing Steve Staunton to Liverpool and his two controversial multi million pound signings - Paul Merson and Dion Dublin. He sells Dwight York and Stan Collymore hits the front page headlines. As 1998 turns into 1999 Villa are storming through with a record 12 matches unbeaten and are riding high at the top of the Premiership. John Gregory is the man of the moment: when Glen Hoddle is dismissed from the England job, Gregory, much to his surprise, is talked of as a successor. Fully updated for 2000/2001 season.
