Its functions were assumed by newly founded banks of Eastern Germany and Western Germany.The building of Reichsbank depicted on the bar was not the only one; in the age of the Third Reich the Reichsbank was complemented by a larger building in another place. The gold reserves of the Reichsbank in Nazi period were raised mainly by the theft of the property of invaded countries and prisoners of concentration camps. Great amount of wedding rings and golden teeth of victims of fascist regime were melted down as bullion.
