The Clearway uses 14 AWG multi-strand oxygen free copper conductors big enough to bring control and definition to both book shelf and floor standing loud speakers. The insulation is FEP which has a very similar performance to PTFE. The choice of insulation has a profound effect on the ultimate performance of a speaker cable and FEP contributes to the neutrality of the Clearway speaker cable. Other types of insulation will often produce unwanted tonal colourations and while your music should be full of colour your cables shouldnt. The conductors are arranged in a twisted pair configuration before a soft PVC internal jacket is applied, this helps to minimise mechanical noise and also spaces the twin contra-wound foil shields in relation to the conductors. With the design of The CLEARWATER, it was our intention to produce the best match between quality and price. The decision was taken to work with 2 groups of strands with a conductor size of AWG 14; this because in many situations the distance between the amplifier and the loudspeakers is limited. Therefore a twin-lead construction was made with 2 x 98 strands of a dense very pure silver coated Matched Crystal (MC) OFC. The two conductor groups are twisted in opposite directions. The resistance of each lead is: 0.9 Ohm/100 meter. The capacitance between the two conductors is: 17.5 pF/meter. Sonically this cable is a great product with a very balanced overall quality. There is no harshness and the spatial reproduction is superior. JUST AS ITS NAME SAYS: "THE SOUND IS AS CLEAR AS WATER" The cables jacket is made of transparent HULLIFLEX ® 3, a robust halogen free material excellently capable of shielding the copper conductors from the chemically threatening outside world.  The jacket on each lead is different in shape and the flat middle section in between has a printing on one side: both properties are easy polarity finders. Chord Company Leyline LSOH speaker cable Chord Leyline speaker cable came into being during the first wave of home A/V set-ups.   Amplifiers for all rooms were often fitted in one place. This meant long (and sometimes very long) runs of speaker cable throughout the structure.  It also meant that the cable had to be discrete and affordable.  There were already a lot of cheap cables available, so we needed to develop something better.  Size restrictions meant using 16AWG conductors.  Long runs meant using a twisted pair design which suited us as we already using twisted pair geometry to produce speaker cables anyway.  Cost ruled out silver-plating or using PTFE, so after much thought we settled on oxygen free copper conductors and low-density polyethylene insulation for conductors. The problem came with longer runs and a loss of high frequency detail along with space and coherence. We solved this by tin-plating the conductors. It wasnt an overly bright cable and would now carry high frequency detail over longer runs.  The final version of Leyline featured tin-plated oxygen free copper conductors, low density HDPE insulation, a twisted pair conductor configuration and a protective LS0H outer jacket (low smoke, zero halogen), meaning Leyline can be used in public buildings. Leyline is also a great choice for rear speakers in bigger systems.  It can be used with pretty much whatever level of speaker cable you choose for the front speakers, with no loss of overall balance.
