The metal bust is made from silvered bronze. Dimensions 17 cm x 21 cm. Weight about 2.0 Kgms. With the wooden mounting the weight is 2.8 Kgms The mounting measures 26 cm x 34 cm. The inscription is on silvered cardboard. The message  is taken for a letter addressed to General Louis Botha written by Paul Kruger at Clarens, Switzerland on 29th June, 1904. Kruger died there about two weeks later on 14th July 1904. Translated from the Dutch into English: "Seek, therefore, all that is good and beautiful in the past, build on it your ideal, and strive to realise that ideal for the future. Last message from the President".
