In this 3D real-time strategy title, players are assured of 100 hours of gameplay by following three distinct "paths" through the fantasy tech tree, which features 94 types of units in single-player campaign mode. Multiplayer action for up to eight players extends game life via a LAN or Internet connection. Warrior Kings offers tactical 3D action and freedom in character development as players strive to reunite a shattered kingdom, making use of diverse landscapes, buildings, and weapons. Decisions made during the campaign determine whether evil, good, or neutrality reigns in the kingdom. Gathering resources, escorting the all-important cart from harvest to warehouse, setting patrol routes and waypoints, fighting off attacks, creating a working economy, building units, structures, and farms, protecting caravans, defending villages, and upgrading units through research and technology are all part of a day's work for potential warrior kings. Elements of gameplay include building a military force using heavy or light infantry or cavalry, controlling formations (column, line, orb or wedge) in real-time combat and movement, maneuvering reconnaissance units, wielding siege weapons, summoning demonic units, utilizing four types of ships, garrisoning, and taking advantage of "Acts of God." Lording over the game halls in the days after PAC-MAN and DONKEY KONG had lost their luster, these two giants revolutionized gaming forever. JOUST casts you in the role of a noble knight from the future mounting you on an ostrich and sending you off into battle. Making full use of the ostrich, you'll try to gain altitude and get your opponent from above, collecting magical eggs for extra points. DEFENDER puts you in the pilot's seat of an aerodynamic space ship and shoots you through the expanses of a futuristic city under siege. You'll have to fend off other spacecraft, utilize a whole lot of impressive weaponry, and keep the civilians from turning into ugly mutants.
