Up for auction is a pair of SADF   'hose tops' They are pulled on over regular army socks to make long socks, worn with shorts and boots with drill order. The junction between the sock and the ankle boot is wrapped in a sort of bandage, known as a puttee.  The top of the hose top is turned down, over a garter, normally fitted with felt 'feathers', in the colours of the unit or corps of the wearer.  Happy Bidding
