Here on auction we have a new build custom sewn SADF era nutria "browns" cloth "formal dress" tie made specifically for SADF veterans to wear as a special item on parades, special occasions and other days where a fromal dress tie is required!!! The ideal gift for the SWA/ Angola Border war veteran and SADF era fan that already has everything BUT this!!! Please note (care instructions) that this item has been custom made from original period SADF nutria poly/ cotton uniform cloth (the same type as used for the issued field-dress) and should ONLY be hand-washed with luke warm water and then dried flat and ironed flat again using a medium heat iron (and NOT a hot iron!). Here we have a complete set of SADF field wash basin (use to shave/ wash hands/ hold ice) and wash-trough (take a shower/ wash dishes) with a metal stand as issued for use during training/ operations. Also included is a matching folding/ soft bucket. In good used condition, no damage - both basins still hold water! Marked "Haggie 1977" - Haggie was a canvas manufacturer in Cape Town which supplied camping gear to the SADF. Used by the SADF, especially those in the Armour and Mech forces, see the following pic for use by SADF armour in Angola during Op PROTEA; Basins made from heavy duty vinyl and canvas backing - both still water-tight. A great set of usable items - the small basin works great as a hand wash station/ shaving stand/ Ice bucket! The large basin is used for washing dishes/ bathing in! Metal frame folds-up nicely (concertina style) - all great for camping/ 4x4 trips/ fishing. Please note that due to size and weight shipping/ postage will be HIGH! I have sanded down the frame (which was rusted) and re-sprayed with a dark earth paint (closest to SADF nutria that I could source). Up for auction is a pair of SADF   'hose tops' They are pulled on over regular army socks to make long socks, worn with shorts and boots with drill order. The junction between the sock and the ankle boot is wrapped in a sort of bandage, known as a puttee.  The top of the hose top is turned down, over a garter, normally fitted with felt 'feathers', in the colours of the unit or corps of the wearer.  Happy Bidding
