Star Wars Battlefront II (PS2) Platform: PlayStation2 Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Description Star Wars Battlefront II improves upon the original game's single-player experience with open-ended, mission-based objectives inspired from all six Star Wars films. The compelling storyline spans more than 12 new locations, many from Episode III, including volcanic Mustafar and the space battle above Coruscant. All-new classic movie moments complete the Star Wars Battlefront II experience, as players battle within the interior of the Death Star and visit Princess Leia's blockade runner, the Tantive IV, as seen at the beginning of Episode IV A New Hope. In addition, at certain key moments within the battles, players can feel the Force as a Jedi. For the first time ever, Star Wars Battlefront II players can engage in space combat and, during the same battle, board enemy ships to attack from within. Starting on foot inside a capital ship, players can enter the spacecraft of their choice and travel into space to dogfight with the rival faction. From there, they can dock within the enemy's capital ship, overtake the ship's command posts, man its turrets to disable its shields and destroy it from within! Or, they can simply stay inside their own capital ship and defend it from attacks and enemy fire. The choice is theirs. The stellar online play that marked the original Star Wars Battlefront returns even bigger and better for Star Wars Battlefront II. Players can locate their buddies and track their stats as they battle alongside more players than ever (up to 24 on PS2, 32 on Xbox, 64 on Windows). Review With the latest movie almost making up for the quality of the first two films it looks like Star Wars has won back the hearts and minds of fans everywhere and Battlefront II aims to be the perfect celebration of that. Like the original its a sort of Star Wars version of PC hit Battlefield 1942, where two armies face off against each other, either off or online, jumping in and out of various vehicles as they find them. Of course in Battlefield 1942 "various vehicles" meant jeeps and tanks, in Battlefront II it means X-wings, TIE Fighters, AT-ATs and, for the first time, Episode III vehicles like the BARC speeder, Jedi Starfighter II and V-wing. The biggest change to the game, apart from the new vehicles, is space battles with several of the levels taking part aboard giant space cruisers which you can exit in starfighters, have a dogfight in deep space around and then pilot back to for a bit more on foot combat. Levels include the Blockade Runner from the beginning of A New Hope, the space battle above Coruscant and Utapau and Mustafa from Episode III. Another long awaited addition is playable Jedi, although you can only be one for a short time so as to not unbalance the gameplay. Although the emphasis is on online play the single player mode has been beefed up with better artificial intelligence and a proper story linking all the missions. "Star Wars fans, like this, they will", as Yoda would say (if he was real and wrote game previews instead of being a Jedi Master). -- Harrison Dent This preview is based on an incomplete version of the game; features or problems mentioned above may not appear in the finished game.

Star Gladiator Episode 1: Final Crusade (PS) Platform: PlayStation Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Description Star Gladiator Episode 1: Final Crusade (PS) Manufacturer's Description Humans emigrate easily from one planet to another and peaceful contact is made with many races of alien beings. Yet problems arise with certain races, so the earth federation begins researching a plasma-power weapon to protect Earth. The top physicist for the Earth Federation, Dr. Edward Bilstein, uncovers the secret to humanity's "sixth sense": a technique for capturing the energy of the human mind. The plasma weapon is built, using mental power as its basis. Bilstein reaches fame and fortune for the invention, but is quickly exiled when it is revealed actual human bodies were used in his experiments. Bilstein is placed in a floating prison cell that orbits the planet Zeta, and development of the plasma weapon is suspended. Word of the Earth's possession of a super-weapon spreads throughout the heavens, reducing hostile confrontations. The name Edward Bilstein is completely forgotten. Until four years later... A report from Zeta states that a Federation army base was attacked and immediately destroyed by a small group of rebels calling themselves the "Forth Empire". Several other similar reports come out of other nearby planets. The pattern of attacks lead back to Earth, so the Federation believes Bilstein is coming back for revenge. A man as dangerous as Edward Bilstein can be stopped in only one way. He must be attacked before he reaches Earth. The Federation Army hastily organises people who can utilise the plasma weapons against their own creator and battle the "Fourth Empire". All Earth's hopes rest in the project codename "Star Gladiators".

Star Wars: Behind The Magic Platform: Windows 95 Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Information Relive the classic films scene by scene with complete, annotated screenplays Take a 3-D walking tour of the Millennium Falcon's interior Browse highlights from the Lucasfilm archives Choose from a rich collection of imagery, sounds, video, and trivia Explore the backgrounds of your favorite Star Wars characters and creatures Product Description This comprehensive package draws from an incredible array of sources: reference guides, documentaries, books, novels, comics and the Lucas film archives, along with rare film footage, stills and exclusive new interviews with the Star Wars creative team. Sections include scene-by-scene, characters, locations, technology, events, expanded Universe, behind the scenes, Star Wars: Episode I sneak preview and glossary. Behind the Magic also features hundreds of trivia questions to test your Star Wars expertise. Review From the most popular film trilogy in cinematic history comes the ultimate guide to the Star Wars universe. Behind the Scenes contains just about every piece of information on everything to do with Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. As this was released before Episode I hit the screens, it also contains "sneak previews" of the prequel, but most of the action focuses on the original three. You can explore the characters in depth, from original concept sketches and development, through to the final completed version. You can also explore weapons, including a testing area, explore locations; study the timeline of the Star Wars universe and much more. The depth of information is incredible. The compendium comes on two CDs and is very easy to explore and navigate around, so is perfect for young budding fans and older fanatics alike. With loads of video clips, audio, and video extracts, there should be enough to keep you entertained for hours. There is also a trivia quiz that will keep a running score as you explore. This is an interactive information collection, and is not a playable game, so if you are looking for Star Wars action, then Starfighter or Shadows of the Empire might be more up your street, but that aside, Behind the Scenes will entertain any Star Wars fan, young or old. -- Chris Hall

Star Fox Adventures (Players' Choice GameCube) Platform: GameCube Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Information Explore a vast 3-D world lush in forestry, animals, puzzles and adventure Use a mystical staff to fend off enemies and cast a variety of spells Battle enemies with an intuitive targeting system that locks combat action Traverse land and water or fight through space using Fox's trusty Arwing fighter Build clever strategies to defeat huge boss enemies Technologically advanced graphics with Rare's fur-rendering techniques and lavish effects In-depth, life-like voice-overs and an atmospheric musical score For 1 player Product Description After piloting the Arwing starfighter in the first two Star Fox games, Fox McCloud touches down on Dinosaur Planet for his first adventure outside the cockpit. Many missions still involve the aerial Arwing combat and dogfighting that the sly Star Fox series is known for, but the game pumps up the variety by allowing you to explore on foot and use magical attacks. Armed with an enchanted staff, Fox will be able to battle against the mutated dinosaurs led by local tyrant General Scales. But not all of the planet's dinosaurs are enemies; Fox will also team up with the prehistoric Price Tricky. As Fox jets across the skies or traverses the vast planet on foot, his showdowns with the planet's enemies offer an action-packed gaming experience. Review Fox McCloud is back, but he's left the on-the-rails shoot-'em-up larks of his previous two games behind--this all-new Star Fox adventure sees the super furry animal in a very Zelda -esque bid to save Dinosaur Planet. Star Fox Adventures is the first, and sadly last, GameCube game from Nintendo stalwarts Rare, who previously created such N64 classics as GoldenEye 007 and Conker's Bad Fur Day. It's their last game for the GameCube because Nintendo have recently sold their shares in the company to Microsoft, which has caused an unholy stink from fans around the world and created even more anticipation for this game. Although the control system is very similar to The Legend of Zelda 's, Star Fox Adventures is no simple clone. It's your job as the mercenary mammal to find all the spellstones that will rejoin the splintered planet and defeat the evil General Scales. This entails much exploring of ancient temples and completing of sub-quests to help everything from Yorkshire-accented woolly mammoths to pterodactyls who've lost their babies. The game may lack the epic scale and endless invention of Zelda but it has plenty of new ideas of its own, including a fully interactive dinosaur sidekick, some cool shoot-'em-up sections in Fox's spaceship, and lots of ways to upgrade your magical staff. To add some icing to the cake the graphics are absolutely amazing, particularly the super-realistic fur effects. So don't feel down that Rare are leaving, just enjoy their parting shot and let it whet your appetite for the new Zelda game coming from Nintendo in 2003. -- David Jenkins --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Star Wars Supremacy Platform: Windows 95 Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Information Real time play (not turn based). Two modes of game play: tatical and strategic. LAN or modem play (for two players). Varying difficulty levels. Star Wars Universe provides a wealth of mythology, characters and places to explore. Product Description Review Considering the new generation of Star Wars films being made, it's a brave move to set one of their games at the end of the first. Sadly like later Star Wars games you have to put up with a pair of infuriating droids to deliver the commentary which, unlike the music, you can't turn off. It's Real Time Strategy, but a 3D view is optional when combat arises and the battles can be accelerated to speed up play unlike Force Commander or the Command and Conquer series. As the Empire (mirroring The Empire Strikes Back plot) you must find and wipe out the rebel base, then capture Luke Skywalker. Once you've built up the necessary resources and become powerful enough to attract or coerce systems to your side, your task is to attempt a number of specialised missions during the construction of your battle ready fleets. Although needing a lot of time to invest before the game begins to become addictive Star Wars fans should find some enjoyment here if not at the beginning, by the time the next one comes out.-- Kenneth Henry Manufacturer's Description Strategy Gaming on an Epic Scale: take control of either the Rebel Alliance or the Galactic Empire as you vie for the support of up to 200 worlds. The real-time environment will test your strategic mettle at every turn. Comprehensive Resource Management: Strategic Portion lets you manage manufacturing, resources, fleet deployment and mission assignments. Innovative 3-D Battle Simulation: take complete command of fleets in dramatic battle sequences--almost a separate game in itself.

Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles (Dreamcast) (U) Platform: Sega Dreamcast Condition: Pre-Owned/Used in Very Good Condition This Title Also Available As: New: Brand New and Sealed games available Please get in touch for information on these options. Pre-owned games supplied with applicable serial keys. However - please note: Any single use keys or activation codes may have already been used/redeemed. Product Information Based on the Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace feature film Platform-style action game Choose between 5 Jedi knights and use the Force to take back the Theed Royal Palace Fight battle droids, destroyer droids, and assassins, including Sith warrior Darth Maul Each Jedi has his or her own strengths and weaknesses Product Description Review The battle pitting the noble Jedi Knights against the nasty Trade Federation continues in Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles in its triumphant form on the Dreamcast. For fans of extremely basic arcade beat 'em ups, this is quite possibly the most-improved translation of a bad PlayStation game ever made for the Dreamcast. Sabre-swinging action on a console has never looked better. Yes, the game has bright and shiny graphics that take advantage of the Dreamcast's extra processing muscle, but the game relies heavily on the basic walk-from-left-to-right-and-chop-the-baddies formula reminiscent of Double Dragon. Fortunately, LucasArts made quite a few wise tweaks for this new version. In addition to the original playable characters (Obi-Won Kenobi, Qui Gon Jinn and Mace Windu) the Dreamcast version adds the speedy Ki-Adi-Mundi. The Dreamcast version runs very quickly and smoothly (supposedly at 60 frames per second) no matter how much action is taking place on screen. New to this version are training levels for up-and-coming Jedi's and a cool mano-a-mano fighting mode (think Street Fighter with lightsabers) that's good for a few laughs. Without the Star Wars name, this game could have been considered rather ordinary. But Jedi Power Battles delivers the fun for all who ever wanted a chance to go toe-to-toe with Darth Maul and all of his friends from the Dark Side. Neither original nor deep in gameplay, Jedi Power Battles does show that the Force is still strong in the Dreamcast. -- Mark Brooks Manufacturer's Description Jedi Power Battles presents an escalating series of one- and two-player clashes between lightsaber and Force-wielding Jedi Knights and a fearsome onslaught of menacing opponents from the Sith and Trade Federation. Players choose from among five Jedi characters, and are immersed into a relentless barrage of clashes with the Sith and Trade Federation's most powerful droids, mercenaries and assassins, and ultimately, the dreaded Darth Maul. As they progress through the game's 10 action-packed levels, players are challenged to learn a variety of fighting moves to help them face off against each level's boss. As players hone their skills, the game's points-based reward system and power-ups will allow them to unlock new moves, strengthen Force powers and enhance health.
