Here we have a pre-1994 ex-homelands Transkei Corps of Military Police metal cap/ beret badge in great condition. The Transkei Defence Force (TDF) was a now defunct SA homelands pre-1994. A great find. These Military Police beret/ cap badges don't surface that often. Both screw-posts are intact and the badge is in great shape too!  Please see the photos for confirmation of the item's condition and further details. Please note that the background used for the photos is not included in this auction. A full-size correctly named WW2 and Police medal group to WO Stephanus Jacobus Marais SAP number: 197959. Confirmed POW. See pictures of records below. Court mounted for display. PLEASE note: on the reverse of the medals there is some non-acidic clear silicone, probably to keep the medals in place. The medals are correctly named (see pictures) and are in good condition, no damage - my view. The POW status is also confirmed in King's book on the Police - see pictures.   The above picture shows where some twit used non acidic silicone to keep the medals in place. This does not detract from a good complete POW group. The above picture shows the naming on the 1939/45 Star. Naming on the Police Star of Merit shows he received this medal on the 16/05/1965. Naming on the Police Good Service Medal. The above confirms his POW status (Terence King book). Marais's name just above the ruler. WW2 medals confirmed in his records. A nice complete Police WW2 POW medal group. Worthy of much more research. Above WW2 record shows him missing and then confirmed POW. Overseas bidders welcome but you retain the risk of postage. Here we have on auction a rarely seen available for sale current issue Mozambique Police (PRM) rice pattern camo long-sleeve shirt in good used condition AND in a X- LARGE size! This l/s shirt is approx a size X-L (fits me and I normally wear XL shirts - 44 inch chest) and is marked in the local size scale as a "size 9". The picture below shows a member of the Mozambique PRM police wearing the same rice pattern camo as is on auction here; Many Southern African nations adopted the rice pattern camo (East German/ Chinese origin and/ or copy) for use by their militaries/ police forces (Zambia and Moz still currently use this patt for police)/ para-military forces and the pattern was also extensively used by insurgents and terrorist groups throughout Southern Africa eg. ZIPRA/ ZANLA in Rhodesia, SWAPO/ PLAN in Angola/ SWA etc.  and subsequently the SA Special Forces (Recces) also made their own copy camo and psuedo uniforms in the pattern! Please see the pics for further detail and as a confirmation of the item and its condition as on auction. Please see the "INUPOL" label and size tag - which reads "size 9" (approx XL). and; These uniforms are extremely difficult to source and finding one in a X-large size is even MORE difficult! Please see my other auction currently running with matching XL size short sleeve and rice pattern PRM trousers! Please note that the 32 Battalion summer camo used as a background is not included in this auction.
