Passiflora quadrangularis  Seeds Passiflora quadrangularis, also named Passiflora macrocarpa or Giant Granadilla, is a perennial vine, looking much like Passiflora alata, but its flowers are bigger. Native to Central and South America it is grown for its large ornamental fragrant flowers and the large fruits. It climbs by means of clinging tendrils and can be kept as a container plant. The long tendrils need lots of support for climbing. It is a fast growing vine which can grow over 15 meters high. It may be grown as a houseplant in a sunny window. A vigorous tropical vine with large bright green oval leaves, 7-13 cm long, 6-10 cm wide. The stems are quadrangular in shape. One of the loveliest and most exotic of the Passion flowers producing gorgeous purple, white and blue banded fragrant flowers, measuring 8-10 cm across in a long succession from mid-Summer to Autumn. It produces giant green to yellow Passion fruits reaching over one foot in diameter. The pulp is white or greyish and is not as flavourful as the common Passion fruit, but still tasty and often eaten or used in drinks. It rarely produces fruit under greenhouse conditions but makes up for this by the sheer glory of its flowers. Pruning is a must to keep the vine healthy. Prune off less vigorous growth and occasionally prune back vigorous growth to promote flowering. When established, and without care, the passion fruit can easily overtake other garden plants, shading them from sun. Protect from frost or plant in frost free areas. The Giant Granadilla is hardy to 35°F when mature, frost tender when young. Provide ideally a temperature of 15°- 28°C. Keep the atmosphere humid through the summer and place in full sun, can tolerate partial shade. Passiflora quadrangularis loves the warm humid Tropics. You may need to water your plants on a daily basis during the hottest summer months. During the winter the roots should be kept moist, but as growth will be much slower you will probably only need to water once a week, depending on growing temperature. It will do best in a loam based mix with a little peat moss. If their pot is too large or if they have an unrestricted root run then the whole plant will simply get bigger and bigger but it will refuse to flower and therefore produce the fruits. By limiting the pot size you are limiting the ability to grow and this is seen as a threat, so the natural mechanism is to produce seed for the next generation. A suitably sized pot for an adult plant would generally be of 30cm in diameter. On offer is a pack of 5 Seeds

The Venus Fly Trap (Dionaea muscipula) is the most well-known species of carnivorous plants. These insectivorous plants lure their prey using sweet-smelling nectar. When an insect lands on the head of the fly trap, they seek the source of the nectar, and if the plant is lucky, it will touch one of the many trigger hairs located within the jaws of the trap. Once triggered, the trap snaps closed, trapping the victim. The plant then secretes an enzyme which essentially 'dissolves' the insect, turning it into a digestible dinner. After a few days, the fly trap will re-open, to await its next victim. Venus Fly Traps are quite easy to grow, as long as they are given the proper conditions.            The Venus flytrap has a rosette of leaves up to 20 cm across. Each leaf has a flat stalk and ends in a trap. The centre is often reddish, and the sides of the trap are lined with stiff, comb-like bristles that interlock when the trap closes. The flowers are white, in a cluster at the top of a cm leafless stalk. They should be grown in very bright light, but not in direct, hot sun. A warm, humid environment, with a constant supply of moisture, such as you would find in a terrarium is ideal. The potting mixture should consist of a mix of 70% Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss and 30% Horticultural Perlite. The Venus flytrap also known as Venus's flytrap or Venus' flytrap is a carnivorous plant native to subtropical wetlands on the East Coast of the United States. Dionaea is a monotypic genus closely related to the waterwheel plant and sundews, all of which belong to the family Droseraceae.  The Venus flytrap is commonly grown as a curiosity plant and is a source of wonder for children and adults alike. Indeed, it is likely that the Venus flytrap has been the source of inspiration for many a horror film involving man-eating plants – a somewhat unique “use” within the plant kingdom! Dionaea muscipula has also been shown to contain naphthoquinones that may have medicinal value. These Dionaea muscipula seeds are the product of careful hand pollination of numerous superior Venus Flytrap clones. The seed and pollen parents of these seeds include Big Mouth, Red Dragon, Red Piranha, B52, Royal Red, Czech Giant, Southwest Giant, FTS Maroon Monster, Low Giant, Jaws, Big Vigorous, Fused Tooth, Sawtooth and Holland Red. This pack consists of Mixed Giant Dionaea muscipula Forms

Dyckia brevifolia Seeds Common Names: Pineapple Dyckia - Pineapple Bromeliad   Dyckia brevifolia or Pineapple Dyckia as it is commonly known is a stemless, succulent, terrestrial bromeliad, native chiefly to Brazil and Argentina. It flowers during summer and bears 7mm long sulfur-orange to yellow flowers. It does best in full sun to light shade, with night temperatures of °C and day temperatures of 20°C or higher. Pot in a lime-free compost consisting of 2 parts peat moss to 1 part loam to 1 part sharp sand or perlite. Allow the potting mix to become moderately dry between thorough watering. Fertilize every 2 weeks with a balanced fertilizer diluted to ½ strength recommended on the label. It is propagated from the new shoots that appear at the base of the plant. Dyckia is a genus of the botanical family Bromeliaceae, subfamily Pitcairnioideae. The genus is named after the Prussian botanist, botanical artist and horticulturist The Prince and Earl of Salm Reifferscheid-Dyck (). Dyckias, with stiff and thorny leaves, prefer rocky and/or sunny areas and have a natural tendency to clump leading to thick, large mats. The subfamily Pitcairnioideae contains several "terrestrial" members of the Bromeliaceae, with cultivated genera including Dyckia, Hechtia, Pitcairnia and Puya. Considered to be the most ancient lineage of bromeliads, they are endemic to arid and high-altitude regions of Brazil and the central part of South America.  You're buying a pack of 10 Seeds We'll supply you with all the germination & care instructions.

Stenoglottis fimbriata Seeds Common names: Fringed Stenoglottis; Fraiing-Stenoglottis   This charming, mauve, ground orchid  is easily identified by the dark markings found on the leaves and flowers. Stenoglottis fimbriata is a terrestrial tuberous orchid, reaching a height of 300-400 mm. It is found growing in a very thin humus or moss layer on rocks or in humus-rich soil in rock crevices or on tree trunks or fallen logs in shaded forests. The root system consists of a clump of elongated, fleshy tuberous roots. The roots are hairy, which allows the plant to attach itself to rocks. Leaves are dark green, lanceolate, 5-20 arranged in a basal rosette, ± 150 mm long and ± 20 mm wide. Leaves display wavy margins with recurved tips and are dotted with dark purple spots. The flowering stem is slender, purple in colour, 300 mm tall, leafless and bears small, green, spotted bracts. The lilac-pink flowers, 5-50, vary in size and are loosely arranged on a raceme. The raceme continues to elongate as the flowers open over a period of several weeks. All parts of the flower are spotted and lilac-pink in colour. The dorsal sepal is narrowly ovate and 4-8 mm long. The petals are elliptic to narrow, 3-6 mm long and thus shorter than the sepals. The three-lobed lip is a distinctive identifying character of the plant. It is 6-15 mm long, paler than the sepals but more densely spotted. The lateral lobes of the lip are usually shorter than the central lobe. They are often barely toothed or almost subdivided. Stenoglottis fimbriata flowers from January to April. Growing orchids from seed is a fairly specialized undertaking and it requires a bit of understanding of tissue culture techniques. If you have never grown orchids from seed we recommend that before attempting this you should first contact your local Orchid Society, or purchase a book on the subject, or both! On offer is a pack of 10+ Seeds
