Salary R - R (depending on experience and qualifications) Diploma/Degree in Purchasing or similar Key deliverables of the job or typical major tasks and responsibilities § Conduct ongoing price negotiations and benchmarking with suppliers to ensure we have the best price for materials in the Printed Packaging portfolio.  These include local and imported items. § Drive cost-reduction projects on a continuous basis in an effort to reduce costs and achieve targets in all categories. § Prepare and conduct tenders. § Support and play and active role in the New Product Launch process by sourcing and advising marketing on packaging options – MUST meet required deadlines for launches. § Source and develop new suppliers using the Global Sourcing data base. § Record savings on a monthly basis in terms of forecasted and annualised targets as per ISO guidelines. § Update material master documents i.e. information records, source lists and standard prices as per ISO guidelines. § Track delivery progress, liaise with clearing agents and communicate with production. § Update costing of all imported items as the containers come in. § Liaise with quality at all times to ensure that all items meet quality standards. § Conduct monthly focus meetings with suppliers to ensure we maintain sound and mutually beneficial supplier relationships. § Attend local and international trade shows.   Core purchasing/buying experience in the Printed Packaging and or Rigid Plastic portfolios. Strong negotiation skills Minimum 3 years “solid” experience in buying FMCG and Category product knowledge SAP Minimum requirements should be met - 3 years SOLID experience in a Buyer Position preferably Packaging Only candidates with a South African ID number need apply Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted
