It is ordered on demand from our supplier and is usually dispatched within 7 - 12 working days With gender as its central focus, this book offers a transnational, multi-faceted understanding of citizenship as legislated, imagined, and exercised since the late eighteenth century. Framed around three crosscutting themes - agency, space and borders - leading scholars demonstrate what historians can bring to the study of citizenship and its evolving relationship with the theory and practice of democracy, and how we can make the concept of citizenship operational for studying past societies and cultures. The essays examine the past interactions of women and men with public authorities, their participation in civic life within various kinds of polities and the meanings they attached to their actions. In analyzing the way gender operated both to promote and to inhibit civic consciousness, action, and practice, this book advances our knowledge about the history of citizenship and the evolution of the modern state. Lauren Huttons life fell apart at the age of thirty. She lost her husband, her career, and her father. When the future looked dark, Hutton turned to her past for inspiration. There, she rediscovered the true love of her life. It wasnt another person. Instead, this love was Sarh, the voice of Huttons own soul. Sarh had been speaking to Hutton for years, but she kept trying to tune her out through antidepressants, drugs, and overwork. As Hutton gradually realized Sarhs identity and purpose, she began to reconnect with a part of herself she had long thought lost. The pressures of adulthood, career, and relationships had stifled the creativity and curiosity she had cherished as a child. Hutton rediscovered her old passionsand now she shares her spiritual and metaphysical knowledge with you. Hutton teaches that you cant look to the Universe for guidance. She didnt find the answers to her questions out in the world but inside herself. By listening to her souls voice, Hutton realized who she was meant to be, and she transformed her life. She became spiritually fulfilled and committed herself to helping others hear their own soul voices. About the Author Lauren Hutton has devoted her life to teaching people to access their soul space. She assists them in integrating human experiences with those of the soul, the master voice within, and navigates people back to their innate creative abilities. Hutton draws wisdom from her own soul voice, Sarh, and her studies with ascended masters, those who have completed their time on earth. She believes the spiritual experiences humans seek can be found inside themselves. Hutton has previously worked as a newspaper reporter, a communications professional, a nonprofit lobbyist, a public affairs specialist, and a business owner. She now splits her time between Longmont in Colorado, Encinitas in California, and her home state of Texas. She enjoys traveling, playing with her dog, Ollie, and meeting new people through her work with www.newenergycreator.com.   why purchase an E-book? Travel.  If you’re on the go a lot, you know how heavy regular titles are, particularly if you intend to finish one book while you are out and need to bring another book with you. E-books allow you to bring a whole library with you wherever you go. You can switch between titles with ease and the weight is lighter than a standard paperback. Storage.  Those who own a lot of books know how much space they can take up, but with a reader or PC, your bookshelf is located on a small handheld device, your computer or on both. This will save you a lot of storage space and also means you have a backup if something happens to your books. Price.  E-Books are often cheaper because there are no printing fees associated with them. In fact, you can find what you need right here on bargainbuyz™ for only R10, whereas paperback books almost always cost you a bit (not to mention the inconveniences that come with collecting them). Speed.  When you buy an E-book, your reward is almost instantaneous. Whereas if you order a paperback book online you have to wait for it to arrive before the fun begins. Font adjustments.  With an E-book, you can instantly change the size of your font. When your eyes feel strained after reading a paperback book too long, you have little choice but to stop reading. With an E-book, you can just change the font size and keep going. This is also a great feature for those who need large print books. Night reading.  If you read in bed, an E-book may be a good option as it eliminates the need for an external light source. The brightness can also be adjusted to your requirements when reading an E-book. The environment.  No trees are required to manufacture paper for the pages of E-books.      E-books promote Reading - which increases Knowledge - which Empowers - which increases one's level of  Confidenc e   A Great Investment - by any standard - this is a Must Have !!

At 10 am on 15 June 1972, the 19-ton, 43-foot schooner Lucette, sailed by a Scottish ex-farmer and his family, was attacked by killer whales in the Pacific, and sank in 60 seconds. What happened after that is the subject of one of the most astounding survival stories ever to be told.  In an inflatable rubber raft, with a 9-foot fiberglass dinghy to tow it, Dougal Robertson and his crew of five - his wife, 18-year-old son and 12-year-old twin boys, and a student friend - decided to make for the coast of Costa Rica, 1000 miles and an estimated 50 days away.  They had emergency rations of food and water for only three days, a handful of random items salvaged from Lucette, and no maps or compass or instruments of any kind.  Steering by the sun and stars, they set course for the Doldrums. A ship passed near them by failed to see their flares, leaving them to face death from thirst, starvation and exhaustion.  But they did not die.  Their raft sank under them and still they did not die.  Cramped together in their tiny dinghy with only six inches of freeboard, they clawed a space for themselves in the savage ecology of the ocean, on constant alert against 20-foot waves, marauding sharks, and numerous other hazards, through rain, storm, calm and equatorial heat.  With knowledge as their primary weapon, love as their bond, courage and self-sacrifice became a way of life, as mile after mile these six humans in the vast reaches of the Pacific refused to admit defeat. Hard cover, fairly good condition, with dust jacket.  The book shows some signs of wear, and foxing.  223 pages.
