Gibbaeum velutinum 20 seeds Gibbaeums have are clump forming succulents that have thick fleshy leaves. The opposite leaves are of unequal length, the one being 5-6cm and the other being about 4 cm. The flowers are a light pink. Succulents are drought tolerant and like sun. Surface sow succulent seed, use a very well draining mix. Only transplant seedlings after a year or more.

  Gibbaeum is a genus of about 21 species of succulent plants of the family Aizoaceae. The name "Gibbaeum" comes from the Latin "gibbosus" (=hunchback). They come from South Africa (Cape Province, Little Karoo). These succulent plants growing in clumps are characterized by pairs of leaves mostly globular or sometimes thick and arcuate The sizes of the leaves of a same pair are sometimes different. This dwarf plant has unequal grey-green leaf-pairs with white/pink flowers in spring. Tightly clustered round bodies, not a difficult Gibbaeum to grow. Flower colour in this species is usually pale pink, but white and magenta also occur. You are buying a packet of 100 seeds Seeds should be sown at around 18 - 28 *C. They germinate between 5 and 30 days (depending on conditions) Seeds are produced on our own motherplants on the farm outside Barrydale.
