Very nice Swiss made ladies Union Special from the 1940's, has a quality 15 jewel Swiss made movement. Chrome casing with st/steel back and measures 23 mm including crown. This watch has been cleaned, serviced, new crystal and crown fitted a while back. Runs nicely, looks good with its unusual dial, sub seconds and vintage expandable st/steel strap. A highly collectable vintage Elgin Trench watch manufactured in 1924 according to its serial number 26908289 and will soon celebrate its centenary. Original Porcelain Dial with some very faint hair line cracks, dial looks cream in color, due to aged yellowing crystal but is in fact white. Probably why images not so sharp. Nice numerals with the red 12 and vintage black hands. Case is a wire lug Keystone gold filled hinged case and numbered 4515400 in nice condition.and measures 30mm excluding crown. Movement is a high grade vintage movement signed Elgin Natl Watch Co. U.S.A with its serial number. NB Balance wheel is good and swings freely.This watch was sitting in storage for many years and will need to be serviced and repaired as stem section needs attention also and therefore being auctioned as not working. This Elgin is certainly worth the effort especially for those who have the know how or a good watchmaker. I am including the strap but cuff section not matched.

Here we have a Seiko DX 17 jewels 6106 - 7047 from the very early 1970's, the DX range is becoming more scarce by the day. Like most Selko watches from that era men who bought them lived with them on there wrist as there trusted, hard working time teller. This one is no different and does have its wear and tear to show for all its hard work. It was given a new lease on life a few years ago when it was serviced and a new crystal fitted. Its gold plated case that has wear and tear measures 40mm including crown, has a day date window and its hacking ability. For those who do not know an automatic or mechanical watch that you can stop the second hand when you pull out the stem is called hacking. With quartz watches they do that as a matter of normality, that was not the case years ago. One needed this system if you wanted to synchronize your watch to another clock, watch, radio etc also with other people. This watch has a very nice dial with raised indices and a water mark by the 4 which looks worse than it is due to the macro setting, movement is clean and has no moisture damage.This watch runs nicely and might need regulating to be as precise as it can be. To adjust the date you just push on the crown gently to adv ance the date. When you push harder you advance the day and date together. You can not hand wind these watches and that is why they need to be worn so they can build up a good power reserve. You can hold it in your hand and swing it gently from right to left or left to right a few times to get the power going if it has been sitting dormant. I am sure the Seiko fans no all this but they might have forgotten as this watch closes in on its 50th birthday. NB. So no service is needed. Bracelet is black leather and with of strap is 18 mm at lugs. You need to fit or buy your own strap as these watch has the vintage lugs.
