South Africa
Made up of a single title, the property is a shade over 5.3h in extent. Description The property is extremely picturesque. It has the most stunning northerly views of the towering Witelskop, which at m, dwarfs the rest of the otherwise majestic Tsitsikamma range. Nestled in the heart of timber country, the property has some magnificent indigenous forest on the margins of a beautiful little stream that gurgles through the western boundary alongside the house. Veld / Vegetation types Approximately 4 of the 5.3 h has been cleared. The current owner has embarked on a number of projects there, and as such, the property is an eclectic mix of an assortment of vegetation types. While there is significant stands of kikuyu pasture, there are also small citrus orchards, an organic lettuce patch, organic vege garden, protea beds, mulberry orchards, granadilla trusses etc. With the extremely high rainfall and good soils common to this area, there is little in the way of flora that does not thrive here. Rainfall / Water The farm falls within the Tsitsikamma transitional summer / winter rainfall area with an annual average of mm. There is a perennial stream that flows through the property as well as 2 additional perennial fountains. There are 3 dams on the property, all of which are stocked with tilapia as part of an experimental fish farming venture. In addition, there is a very strong borehole that provides ample, quality water for domestic use, and any project that a prospective owner may want to undertake Improvements There house is a very novel wooden cottage. It has 2 bedrooms, a single bathroom, kitchen, and then semi open plan living area with bar and lounge. The lounge has a lovely fireplace which will no doubt be well utilized here in winter. Adjoining the house is a small storeroom, and then a number of wooden structures used as implement sheds, chicken houses etc. Power is via a 25kv Eskom transformer. Conclusion The property is extremely picturesque. Surrounded by forest and having its own riverine forest, it has tremendous potential for a hospitality product or for a small scale subsistence farming venture. With its wealth of water and good soils it would present any number of small scale farming options and with a bit of tweaking, is one of the best off grid living opportunities I have encountered.
