Here on auction we have a rather scarce olive green early SAAF Flight Engineer used survival vest as typically worn by the Allo gunship crew during the SWA/ Angola bushwar in good used condition (PLEASE note that some stitching on the velcro tabs at the rear has come loose - easy to re-stitich and repair and the one front pocket stitching is also loose - see detail pics)  and; Here we see an Allo 3 gunship flight engineer inthe SWA/ Angola bushwar period wearing this exact same type of survival vest: Besides the loose stitching (all very easily repaired) this is an excellent example of a dd 1977 made vest; Please see the attached pics for further confirmation of the item, it's actual condition and any other aspects of interest. Here we have on auction a REPRODUCTION new build Cuban Elm-leaf (Cuban) camo "kiko" camo cap (sewn from old stocks of Recce copy camo obtained with great effort and only available in small quantities). This kiko cap is one-size-fits-all and will easily fit someone with a hat size 57/58/59. The "kiko" camo cap was a favourite of the Portuguese and Insurgent (and other Freedom Fighters/ groups in the old Porra colonies of Angola and Mozambique) and was often encontered/ found during the SWA/ Angola bushwar period. These REPRO camo kiko caps are intended to be a comfortable everyday wear item, fold one up and keep handy in a side cargo pocket for "just-in-case"!  The single pic below shows other REPRO kikos available (on other simultanious BoB auctions) and serves as a comparison showing some of the bushwar popular camo patterns employed by the enemy (and copied by SA Special Forces/ Recces and other units eg. 32 Bn recce wing); Top -to-bottom - Libyan Rhubarb, FAPLA (Cuban) grey lizzard, East German (DDR) rice pattern/ falling rain, French llizzard (camo favoured by UNITA), Cuban (SF) elm leaf camo; Basically a handy, comfortable lekke camo cap! This is a brand new surplus SADF Aapjas or Winter Coat with the inner Fleece that can be removed. It has a kappie, buttons and a zip. It measures about 57,5cm from armpit to armpit. It,s about 98cm long excluding the kappie. Armpit to end of sleeve 43cm and shoulder down 60cm. Size on label is RR82.  It weighs about 2kg in the box. Up for grabs on auction - a mint piece of SADF bushwar period dayglo material. This piece measures 155cm x 110cm. This orange hi-vis nylon material was tpically used by SADF troops to mark own positions to aircraft overhead and as a command and control tool for commanders on the ground. Many headress form the period had this material incoprorated in the inside and when the hat was reveresed then it was visible to overhead aircraft and helos. This material was also cut into larger pieces for use when mounted on vehicles for own forces recognition. Often used by special forces (the Recce's) and 32 Bn etc. in Angola and other operational areas as a vital tool for avoiding being targetted by own forces aircraft! This material is rare in this quantity and quality (mint off the roll)! Please see photos for more detail. Happy bidding!!!    

Here we have on auction a Rhodesian bushwar era original period item - a "RNG" stamped brass issue compass in great condition. Oh the stories and places that htis compass has likely been too - a real find from back in the day! The item is in reasonably good shape, but does has some wear-and-tear! The main fuid housing is intact - no leaks fo fluid, there appears to be nO bubble. Therefore as a compass this item is still usable! There is however s ascrew missin on the top cover for one of the guards over the see-through cover/ flap, but besides that it is good-to-go and would make an excellent piece for display and/ or reenactment! The stamped "RNG" refers to the Rhodesia and Nayassaland Governement which proceeded the UDI of Rhodesia and these compasses would have been absorbed as is into the armed forces of Rhodesia post-UDI. Here on auction we have a larger type/ size solid fuel ESBIT foldable stove suitable for camping/ hiking/ survival etc. including a pack of solid fuel "tablets". Those who served in the SADF during the bushwar will recall the smaller issue type ESBIT solid fuel stoves popular "on the border". These solid fuel stoves are approved for commercial aircraft travel. If you are in South Africa you will struggle to find these in the stores as there is no agent in SA for ESBIT currently (and there has been none for many years). PLEASE note that only the new, unused, mint larger type stove is on auction here including a sealed pack of fuel tabs!
