The blade has been sharpened, missing grips and scabbard.  Item has seen better days.   Happy bidding

MANUFACTURED IN APRIL 1894, ORIGINAL BRITISH PATTERN 1888 ANGLO-BOER WAR LEE-METFORD BAYONET WITH LEATHER FROG AND SCABBARD. BAYONET AND SCABBARD SHARE THE SAME SERIAL NUMBERS. APPEARS TO HAVE BELONGED TO BRITISH SOLDIER OF THE "DISTRICT MOUNTED RIFLES". COMPLETE. SEE ALL PICTURES.  

This is a very scarce Original British Pattern 1879 Artillery Carbine "Sawback" Bayonet, in use from about 1879 to 1900. They were designed to fit the Martini-Henry Carbine. This Bayonet has a South African history which makes it so interesting. The blade 25" long by 7/8" wide, single fluted blade both sides. British Boer War - Brown Leather.303 Bandolier/ Ammo Belt 5 pockets (10-6-4-10-10)   British Pattern 1897 Mounted Infantry bandolier. Originally made as 50 rounds bandolier, but this one was probably shortened for use as a waist belt bandolier during the Boer War/early WW1.   In Good used condition.
