From the Boer War, Highland Light Infantry Trench Art on a ZAR 1894 Silver 2 Shillings. Kruger engraved in Highland dress with Glengarry bonnet and plaid brooch marked: "HLI". Boer POW engraved ZAR coins with a 'hat and pipe' or similar motif and quite common. British military trench art on ZAR coins is less frequently seen. Boer War QSA medal with 3 bars issued to 26541 Tpr. J.J Lagorie of South African Light Horse Cape Colony, Orange Free State, South Africa 1901 with documents  as per photo The SA 01 clasp was issued on 14.5.09 to his father (noted on roll 100/275 of March 9, 1903) & is added to the CC, OFS bars. The naming has rub marks 26541 Farrier Jas Jos Lagorie SALH died in hospital at Kroonstad on 24 December 1901. The casualty roll has his father's number as this was lightly entered under his correct service number on August 17, 1904 roll

(South African Light Horse) The same Regiment in which Winston Churchill served after his escape during the Boer War. Adlard Died of Wounds at Mooirivier in Natal on 31 January 1900.(see scans from www.AngloBoerWar.com) Adlard's initials are incorrect on his QSA.(Named as "W").
