This front/part cover is the only known cover with the Kimberley Single Circle datestamp (23 June 1882) and the 6d pale lilac adhesive (SACC 20) cancelled with the Barred Oval Numeral defacer "2". According to Goldblatt, number "2" has not previously been found used in Griqualand West. The part cover has been tidied by the cutting of some frayed edges, has been repared at left and right edges, and the top left corner of the adhesive is damaged. The back has been torn as per scan. Sold as is in the condition as per scans below.

ORANGE FREE STATES Barred oval numeral BONC postmark "777" of SPRINGFONTEIN used on 1d VRI (Stops level) overprint. "BONC 777 was originally a Cape cancel from Stormberg Junction. Stormberg was occupied by the Boers and when it was retaken by the British, the Boers must have fled with the canceller. It was then recaptured by the British in Springfontein in the OFS and used as a provisional cancel at the garrison there for about a month(from April to May 1900) until they had a canceller of their own"
