ORANGE FREE STATES    Barred oval numeral BONC postmark "777"  of SPRINGFONTEIN  used on  1d  VRI (Stops level) overprint. "BONC 777 was originally a Cape cancel from Stormberg Junction. Stormberg was occupied by the Boers and when it was retaken by the British, the Boers must have fled with the canceller. It was then recaptured by the British in Springfontein in the OFS and used as a provisional cancel at the garrison there for about a month(from April to May 1900) until they had a canceller of their own"
