SAMSA approved 'R' (Dams and Rivers) and 'E' (1nm Sea) course.   Final Course for this year - Saturday, 6 December   To operate a vessel, smaller or equal to 9 meters with an engine more thatn 15hp, on dams, rivers, sea and in harbours in South Africa, a skipper license is required. The penalties for operating without a license are high and inspectors are clamping down on those operating without a license.   Be legal this summer!   Our helpful instructors will take you through the theory, practical demonstration and prepare you to successfully write the exam.   Ladies welcome. With the fast pace of modern life it is not always possible to organize a day or two to sit in a classroom. In some cases, people have to travel far to reach an approved facility. To operate a vessel, smaller or equal to 9 meters with an engine larger than 15hp – jet skis included - on dams, rivers, sea and in harbours in South Africa, a skipper license is required The material covers the SAMSA syllabus for the ‘R’ (Inland waters) and ‘E’ (1 nautical mile sea) license. How does it work? Cover the 7 modules in the comfort of your home, in your own time and only continue to the next module once feeling comfortable with the current module. There is no time limit set to complete the course. You will have a message system which you can use to get support or ask questions. There is a quiz at the end of each module and, if you use it to test yourself honestly, we can guarantee that you will pass the SAMSA examination paper. On the completion of all the modules, you will receive a certificate stating that you have completed the online course successfully. You can now contact an approved SAMSA examiner and arrange to write the SAMSA exam. Registered SAMSA examiners, affiliated to Skippers Online are published on our website. Most examiners will allow you to write the exam on a date and time which suits you. No need to wait for a future examination date! You can even organise it at your holiday destination! On successful completion of the examination the examiner will issue you with an interim license which is valid for 6 months.
