Britain's Cold War Bombers explores the creation and development of the jet bomber, tracing the emergence of the first jet designs (the Valiant and Vulcan) through to the first-generation jets which entered service with the RAF and Fleet Air Arm. Each aircraft type is examined, looking at how the design was created and how this translated into an operational aircraft. The basic development and service history of each type is explained, with a narrative which links the linear appearance of each new design, leading to the present day and the latest generation of Typhoon aircraft. Other aircraft types covered are the Canberra, Sperrin, Victor, Scimitar, Buccaneer, Nimrod, Phantom, Sea Harrier, Jaguar, Tornado GR1/4 and Typhoon. Format:Hardback Pages:0

Juta, 1906 Hardcover without dustjacket. There is sunning to the spine and age related markings to the boards. Endpapers have age toning as can be expected. Excerpt from History of the Wesleyan Methodist Church of South Africa This is a simple history of the Wesleyan Methodist Church of South Africa, and also of the Methodist Missions in the Transvaal and Rhodesia which are under the control of the British Wesleyan Missionary Society. I am convinced that there is still a rich mine of Methodist lore in South Africa awaiting the research of the skilful explorer. I have only been able to scratch the surface. The preliminary chapters on the origin of British Methodism are intended for South African readers, who may not have easy access to the standard works on the subject. I am indebted to many ministers and laymen for information and photographs, to all of whom I tender my grateful acknowledgments; but my special thanks are due to the Rev. F. Mason for permission to use his valuable notes on Natal Methodism, published in the South African Methodist, and also to the Rev. T. Chubb, B.A., for his careful revision of the proof sheets.

Paperback. English. Gibson Square. 2007. ISBN: 9781903933909. 336pp. Good condition in paperback. A new Tory government has formed since 7/7. Alarmingly, however, religious radicalisation continues as before. Britain's establishment is pretending to be tough on terrorism, as it continues to look the other way. This refusal to act goes back three decades, when a hub for terror throughout Europe and elsewhere was allowed access to British soil - Londonistan. In Londonistan (updated with new materials including Wikileaks), Melanie Phillips interviews key politicians, moderate Muslims, academics and intelligence experts. She uncovers a persistent state of denial by the establishment entrusted with our security, both on the left and right. Hers is an acclaimed and gripping history of the failure of the way in which Britain is handling its terrorist and social crisis. Book No: 465807
