The SPS range is priced with or without batteries in case you already have batteries or want to source them elsewhere. The battery is an essential component of any power system. It will determine how long the system will run, how deep you can drain the battery and how many times you can discharge it (cycle life). The SPS can use any deep cycle battery type, but NOT a car battery (see faq's on our website for details). The batteries we supply with the SPS are GEL cell. They are safe, spill proof and leak proof with the capability to be deeply discharged and to repeatedly accept recharging.
