** Available to South African customers only  ** Regular garden variety potting soil is not suitable for carnivorous plants as the mineral and salt content will burn the roots and kill off your plant quite quickly.  The nutrient poor soils to which terrestrial carnivorous plants have adapted to, are often rich in peat and sand. This growing media can be duplicated with a soil mixture of sphagnum peat moss, horticultural sand and/or perlite Ideal for repotting, this is our own nutrient-free premix that we use for our venus flytrap growing purposes This tailored premix is very low in nutrients and made up of imported Canadian peat moss and horticultural perlite. The ratio of ingredients in the mix has been designed to trap and hold moisture while providing sufficient drainage - creating a stable friable mix for your precious plant.  The mix has been washed, but it's always recommended to rinse the media prior to use Available in 500ml packets * 1 packet will fill a standard 10cm pot or 50 cell plug tray, plus a little extra * Happy Growing!!
