LEARN TO BUILD A ROBOT AND CONTROL IT FROM YOUR COMPUTER IN SOUTH AFRICA
This course teaches the basics of electronics and programming by getting each student to build their own computer controlled robot. Each session is 2-3 hours long and takes place on Saturday afternoons starting at 2 pm. Each session will cover a specific topic and will require you to build a part of your robot. Session 1: Basics of Arduino and programming Session 2: Serial communication between your computer and the Arduino Session 3: Reading sensor values Session 4: Controlling motor speed and direction Session 5: Build the robot's "hand" Session 6: Assemble robot's frame and install electronics Session 7: Establish wireless link and test and debug all features (and decorate the robot) Session 8: Robot challenge I have a Master's degree in electronics from Stellenbosch University and I love teaching. Part of the reason for teaching these courses is to inspire others and to share my passion. All components are included in the course fee, but will have to be returned at the completion of the course. The kits used in the course will also be on sale if students would prefer to take them home. The total course fee is R per student and is payable in installments.
