BI DATA INTEGRATION DEVELOPER 6 MONTH CONTRACT CPT IN SOUTH AFRICA

Duties and Responsibilities Give input into the impact analysis for new BI solutions (detailed development estimates, the technical feasibility of and risks associated with each solution design/project). Work with other BI team members to analyse and recommend BI solutions to meet business requirements. Give input into data integration designs. Design, develop and implement the best technique for extracting data from source systems and moving it to and through the BI system (Data Warehouse and Analytical Platform), adhering to internal architecture and data integration standards. Design, develop and implement data integration solutions that maximise re-usable components, incorporate audit, reconciliation and exception handling. Implement monitoring and measurement of data quality as defined by business rules and provides data quality metrics for Data Governance trend analysis. Adapt data integration processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new Business User requirements. Test data integration solution (unit testing and system integration testing) and verify that it meets business, functional and technical specifications. Document solutions, both technical (design, metadata) and procedural (process flows, rules) to ensure that peers understand how to support the solution. Work with production data to monitor and report on data conditions and quality. Remain current with industry trends and thought leadership on Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, BI architecture and BI technologies. Establish effective and collaborative partnerships within the BI Team as well as with relevant IT teams, particularly BI source system teams. Competencies In depth knowledge of Data Warehousing, Data Management and BI/Data Integration best practices In depth knowledge of BI environments, solutions and implementations (end-to-end BI architecture and technologies) Extensive knowledge of software engineering and development processes and is an expert in the field of data integration (ETL and OLAP) tools Extensive knowledge and experience in maintainability, scalability and performance of BI environments Able to create re-usable code and apply standards and best practices to that code Good written and verbal communication skills Disciplined in applying BI standards but open to suggestion and change Qualifications and Experience Relevant 3 year tertiary or NQF aligned qualification. Minimum 5 years’ experience in Oracle PL/SQL. Relevant experience in a retail business would be an advantage.
