It has a clear enamel coating. It is non-tarnishing and perfect for light to medium wire wrapping and jumpring projects. I rate this wire to be half hard. Half-hard  is the sweet spot between "Dead-Soft" and "Full-Hard" tempers. This wire is fairly easy to bend, but it will retain its shape afterward. This particular hardness is the most commonly used wire for wire-wrapping, earwires, jump rings and hard angles.
