Waterbessiebos is a unique, architect-designed, modern timber frame self-catering cottage and is two metres above the ground and surrounded by indigenous bush. Offering beautiful views of the bush including Water Berry (Waterbessie, Syzygium Cordatum), Matumi (Mingerhout, Breonadia Salicina), Round-Leaved Teak (Dopperkiaat, Pterocarpus Rotundifolius) and other species and ferns. By just sitting on the deck, it is possible to catch a glimpse of the monkeys or see the occasional bushbuck grazing shyly in the bush. Sightings of smaller animals such as meerkat and guinea fowl are also possible, and at night bush babies, muskeljaatkat, porcupine and civets may make their appearances too. You can also watch several bird species from there. For the romantics, you can take a stroll around the magnificent garden and sit under the age-old Matumi trees next to the meandering stream.
