VIOLIN IN PRETORIA
Magnificent instrument built in the Mittenwald violin school prior to the Second World War. Last appraisal done by the late Heinrich Schaffrath in 2002 who valued it then at 3200 German Mark. The quality and volume of sound makes the violin suitable for solo violin with orchestra. It is a skilful replica of one of Stradivarius's later violins. Currently it is fitted with Pirastro gut strings. Included is a bow, shoulder piece, resin and case. The last two appraisals are also included.
